Looks like Ruger is ceasing production of Hawkeyes, 77, and all revolvers. RIP Ruger...

Oh .... that is indeed sad news.
I can understand somewhat considering the market segment where Ruger chose to position themselves but I am saddened to see Hawkeyes will soon be no more.
I was saddened too by discontinuation of the Blaser R93 albeit for different reasons.

I don’t own Rugers, but this is incredibly sad to see. I feel like factory rifle options keep getting lesser and lesser quality. For the hunters that have 375 Ruger, I’d start buying up ammo and brass because it will become harder to find. I don’t expect Savage, Mossberg, or Howa will keep the cartridge alive long term. Ruger was last quality rifle manufacturer that made it.

Wild

I googled this and another post I saw specifically stated the no1 was discontinued

Business is business but you hate to see it

Should make that “what limited run Ruger would you like to see” thread easier, but probably won’t…..

It’s disappointing but not surprising. Walnut and blue steel guns are a small market, costly and probably a less price sensitive market - ultimately the market will pay more than Ruger prices if need be.

Its very sad to see. Bean counters are taking over everything and it sucks.
I hate seeing it, but the company has been in a downward spiral. Some changes needed made if they were going to continue. I’m just shocked they are cutting everything I associate with Ruger except for the 10/22.

I cut my teeth going on 6 decades ago, on Ruger rifles. Bought the first of many a No 1 in 1974.

Sad news, indeed.

Rugers /us gunmakers problem is the race to the bottom make more cheap xrap vs quality for higher price

Truly sad news. I’ve always been a fan of the 77. I have 2 Lipsey’s Exclusive’s, an M77 Hawkeye 35 Whelen (which I used to take my Kudu this year in South Africa) and a 77/22 22 Hornet. They are both beautiful rifles.

And here I thought Ruger was in the business of making guns? But it turns out that just like every other business in America all they really care about is cutting costs to maximize profits.

But they suck at that too lol

That’s disappointing as hell. I own 3 of their rifles and 2 revolvers and love all of them. I was looking forward to buying a .416 Ruger, but not now.

Noah,
I might be interested in the 470 Woodleigh Softs if the price is right for the entire lot. Are you planning on going to the Tulsa Gunshow in November? If so, perhaps we could meet up.
