Question is where to go. I will have about a $10,000 hunt budget excluding tips, flights, and accommodations before and after the hunt. I have been to Limpopo three times and Namibia once.

Options for 2028
1. Go back to Namibia with Khomas Highland Safaris for Dik-Dik, Black Wildebeest, bird hunting, etc. And to see Etosha.
2. Go to the Eastern Cape in South Africa with KMG for Blue Diker, Grysbok, Orbi, and predators.
3. Go to Zambia with Takeri Private Reserve for Lechwe, Puku, Lichenstein's Hartebeest, etc. And to see Victoria Falls.

I have talked to all three outfitters in the last few years. My wife and I really loved Namibia and our time at Khomas Highland Safaris but there is nothing new I want to hunt except Dik-Dik. But we do want to see and hunt with Issiac and Juan again.

The Eastern Cape is the most logical choice because of the tinys and predators. It is also the budget friendly.

Zambia is probably my top choice but not sure I can do it on my budget. I really want a Lechwe in their native area.

Are there any other options I should consider in my budget?

@Justbryan if you'll consider Limpopo again, I can offer you a Crocodile Hunt that will suit your budget. I offer some of the best Croc Hunts in South Africa!

Spoiled with great options! What an awesome problem to have

From what you have said, go to Takeri.
New horizonts, new experiences, new country.

That Croc hunt with Deiter is offering is no joke. Helluva an adventure with a pH that is even better than the Croc hunting.

For what its worth my vote would be @spike.t in Zambia. One place still on my bucket list and hopefully around 2031 if I am still able to

Potential “last” safari I would stretch the budget into, whatever you can possibly swing.

Sorry, no real world experiences with the choices listed. There are so many beautiful places and unique experiences I would lean into the unknown and embark on a whole new adventure.

Not sure if you’ve done eland in Namibia, but if you go back there you should try an eland tracking hunt using the bushmen trackers. It is a fun experience if you haven’t done it already. Not sure if Khomas does them but several good outfitters in Namibia or western side of Botswana to use and still get your dik dik and see Etosha

You are in a pretty good position. If you want lasting impact-go for predators, or a single sable in zambia. Those are more distinctive and memorable/striking animals. Racking up a head count on the more common species and the tinys may not have the same impact

The Caprivi also offers free range Lechwe in their natural habitat
I would love this and have looked for an outfitter. So far, the day rates and hunt have been beyond my budget. I would love a contact with lechwe in the Caprivi with a reasonable day rate and trophy fee.

Do you have a contact?

Agreed, one of the best hunts in Africa. Right up there with ele and buff. I would be torn between a true tracking hunt and a visit to Takeri, particularly if that could be arranged in a month with an ‘r’ in it.

I think I’d keep working a few more years and keep hunting. If I had to choose between the three options though I’d want to see a new country and go to Zambia.

That’s the only reason I continue working for my safari money!!!

You would book this separate from your hunting package, or would the Falls be added into an all inclusive package with Takeri?

Edit: probably a better question to ask spike.t lol

Save more dollars and book Zambia. The experience alone will be worththe extra cost.

I would go with Takeri

Thank you for the LIKE on my old post. It brought back memories as I lost her a year and a half ago, at 18+ years.
