What did you reload today?

What does the ball weigh?

They are just a little under 900gr.

I obtained a bunch of 375HH ammo out of an estate. I pulled bullets today to salvage 350 grain Woodleigh pp bullets. Ill use the pulled bullets to get some baseline data for future loadings. Mozambique is about 10 months away.

Matt85, question for clarification, which I’m sure I know the answer to but still want to check , is that gram (gr) or grain (gn) measurement.
Gumpy

The measurement "grain" can be shortened to "gn" or "gr", it is most commonly shortened to "gr" but my Hornady scale has it as "gn". The measurement "gram" is normally shortened to "g".

Here is the scale set to grams.

Caught a break in the rain last evening and fired the last two loaded rounds for the old 1959 Winchester model 70 Westerner in 264 WM off the back porch post at a couple double fist sized rocks on a ditch bank a couple hundred yards away, the 140gr Speer Grand Slams leaving out at 3215 fps found the dry powder inside those wet rocks ; ]

Went to the load shop early this morning and sized 100 sticks of old once fired W-W Super brass.

Chamfered the necks, cleaned primer pockets
Popped in FED-215 primers
Poured in 77grs of good old H-870 powder
COL 3.300"
VEL av 3215 fps

This load report may not be helpful to any as the 264 WM is not very popular and H-870 has been out of production for years.

Point being, that old 264 loves that powder and bullet, yes it smokes, burns dirty, gets horrible fuel mileage and is not a temp stable powder, it will lay three into a half inch year after year, ridiciously predictable, whitetail deer and wild pigs have been immediately dispatched out to 250 yards with no bullet recoveries to date.

That old stuff worked in days long gone by, it still works today, even the old gloss Leupold friction adjusted 3.5-10x40 AO scope, it never moves.

75gr semi spitzer with IMR3031 powder, CCI #41 primer(NATO/milspec) and Lake City brass.

Excellent in both 10” suppressed 1:8 barrel as well as 16” 1:9

Finally got some live target testing and results were better than expected; I’m not used to a 5.56 hitting with this much authority.

Entrance wound shot from elevated blind

Exit wound through opposite shoulder

Not a big pig by any means, but there is no testing media like live flesh and bone.

Very nice! Any issues with these 75grs fitting in the magazine?

I hear you on the H- 870.
I had a friend come by yesterday and was looking for some H-414
for a old 30/06 load he loves .
I had one pound left just gave it to him I did not really need it.
The can was from the early 50's and Had never been opened L.O.L.

keep on Reloading
David

H-414 is simply Winchester 760 if he needs to buy some new powder.

223 rem 53 gr vmax 25.5 gr Benchmark Fed ARm primer, 2.240 coal for my AR. Haven't shot the 53's in an AR before want to try them.

Those AWESOME bullets in a 223!!! I’ve dropped several coyotes with that bullet out to 440yds. They disassemble prairie dogs quickly too!

Not today but earlier this week put together some 100 and 115 grain ballistic tip ladders for my 257 Roberts. Going to try them out this weekend.

David Jr, LOL, yes, H-870 blows fireballs too outta that 264 Magnum too, I burn it in a 1965 year FN Browning Medallion 7mm Remington Mag under 175gr Grand Slams for 2950 fps, have about 9lbs H-870 left, when it's gone I'll build loads for the 264 WM with VV-N570 powder, high energy, high velocity powder, use it in my 300 PRC to boot 245gr Bergers out at 2900 fps.

Wyatt Smith speaks the truth, have your old friend order up an 8LB jug of WW-760 powder, it is exactly the old H-414, GTG.

quite tame compared to others here, 7mm08 with 140 gr nosler BT,s with 46 grs IMR 4350. honest five shot nickel size groups at a 100 yards from a bench rest. i killed two speed goats in wyoming at close to 300 yards with that load.

Been loading some 340 WBY , 3 diff loads all set up for the same point of impact. 200 gr Accubond , 225 Accubond and 265 Accubond. The 265 have a gray tip so easy to Identify , the others are both white , so I dyed the tips on the 225 red so I can pic them out of a crowd.

My favorite cartridge of all time!

I've loaded 160, 180, 200, 210, 225, 250 & 275s'. Barnes, Nosler, Hornady & Swift.

I call it my Meat Gun. aka, Thors Hammer.

Big or small, near or far it gets the job done on most anything short of dangerous game and doesn't kill you with recoil. Well the 250 & 275s can be a bit much to shoot off of a bench.

Thank you for the LIKE on my old post. It brought back memories as I lost her a year and a half ago, at 18+ years.
