What is 222 rimmed and how is brass made?
Here is the extract from "Cartridges of the World". It is very difficult to find rimmed cases of the correct diameter. I just get the cases from Bertram Brass and anneal it every reload.

@BlueFlyer

Some classic history right there.

Nice.

Excellent performance. Those Martinis are excellent actions. I built one up in .17HMR, 3/8" at 100 meters, 5 shots & and of all things, paper between each hole.
Well done on your .222R.

Just picked this one up from 50Gunner. Clean as a whistle. 1974 Ruger No1B in 7x57 which was an uncatalogued caliber for the 1Bs.

Martini Cadet in 222Rimmed - the cartridge was specifically developed to be used in the Cadet action. The barrel was made by Sportco and the only interesting point about it is the the rifling has a left hand twist! All other barrels I know have right hand twist. Using Nosler Match 50gr projectiles this is a 1/4MOA rifle.
I put this rifle together in the early 90's. The components were bought at a gun show at the Melbourne show grounds, before we needed permits to purchase. Stock was from Geoff Slee.

@BlueFlyer
Those little guns were unreal. The 222R is a great idea but now you can get an extactor for rimless 222.

@rookhawk
The 222R is the same as the 222rem but with a rim for extraction from single shots. From memory it's an Australian idea.
The little Martini cadet action can't handle big pressure and the 222R runs at slightly lower pressure and velocities.
Brass is made by Bertram brass

A follow up to the @BlueFlyer .222R Sportco Martini, here is my Sportco Martini .22LR.

I think I’ve mentioned it here before, but not posted a picture previously.

Good morning from Montana.

I'm looking at a post from 2018 where you were looking for a lefty Winchester in .375 H&H Magnum. I'm selling mine. My email is kdp59935@gmail.com in the event that you're still searching for a unicorn.

Best,

Kelly Palmer
