Day 1
Great flight on Delta 0200 from Atlanta to JNB. Please note the new arrival visa was a waste of $69. Not asked for or looked at. Mauris and Anna as always with Riflepermits were wonderful. Another note. Delta now tries to send any overweight checked baggage to TSA. TSA told me to take it back which I did. HOWEVER the agent treated it like it was my rifle so my checked bag and rifle arrived at the police station wasting an hour for me. So if your checked bag has ammo in it and does not appear on the baggage area it is probably in the police station. City Lodge was great!
Day 2
No need to get up at the crack of dawn so my flight was booked at 11.40 to Windhoek and arrived meeting Divan at 1:00. Get ready for Windhoek…God love them a total cluster f$&k for both arrival and customs!!! However, I brought 3 magnums of wine from JNB when they only allow 2 liters. She should have confiscated two bottles of very nice wine but she let me through!!! Nice entry into Namibia!!! Got to camp which is at least 4 stars with wonderful chalets that I easily would bring my wife to. My rifle was spot on so with a fabulous meal it was off to bed. To be continued

Day 3 & 4
I started off slow missing my first bait animal a broken horn Oyrx then wounding a black wildebeest which is the first Africa animal I have shot and could not find. Feel terrible about that. But then redeemed myself with a nice shot at another broken horned Oyrx! Food is exceptional !!!!
Day 5
Great day!!! I worked my rear off with Divan and the team going up one hill and down the other for about five miles. My yearly every week training really paid off as I kept up with Divan who is a certified mountain goat !!! Now here is the bad part, I don’t know why but thorns just love me as you can see in the picture! Took a beautiful huge mountain zebra with one shot so now we have plenty of bait!!! I thought you would like to see what we currently have on bait!!!

While I appreciate the rustic side of things as well, I'll stick to pants.

Don't sweat the wildebeest. Unlike North American hunting, I would wager wounded African animals suffer much much less.

Spots pics look good.
I think cats can't take poor photos. Even at night.

Looking forward to hearing more about the food!!!!!

If my math is right you’re starting Day 9 shortly.

How’s the hunt going? Still have the female or young male you posted on bait? Y’all get a daylight feed yet?

I can’t seem to shoot for shit in terms of my bait animals and seem to be making rookie mistakes pulling my head up missing two mountain zebra!!! Fortunately no wounds and I have connected on a zebra and Gemsbok so we have eight good baits up with no hits at this time after 8 days. We have a very large cattle killers tracks around two of the baits that are fresh after a hard rain but as you can imagine he has not hit the bait. Another female in the picture I posted did the same thing just walked up to the bait but did not eat. Starting early today hunting hard for day 9 with five days left!!!
 
Everybody who knows about leopard, said zebra bait is the law for leopard.

You have plenty of time.

Make your shot be true!
