Watching or reading multiple sources is what I try to do. I go out of my way to view CNN or MSNBC just to get the liberal viewpoint. Fox went off the deep end during Trumps first term. CNN and MSNBC were lost years prior. But, by seeing both, and reading other sources, I get a better picture.

On those few days I work now, I listen to a few different shows. Julie Mason trys to stay neutral by having guests from both sides. She's clearly left, but I appreciate her approach. I also enjoy Mark Halperin's podcast. He also trys to stay neutral, has a left consultant and right consultant for their insights. He seems to be a touch right overall.

SCOTUS is dominated by radical conservative Trumpers but there is a limit to the foolishness even they can tolerate without becoming fools themselves. Throwing out his mail-in ballot order to USPS is a small and somewhat feeble gesture. They have finally drawn a line against Trump's idiotic decrees. Hopefully he will get the message and employ more forethought before shooting at the hip again. But that would require some ability to think rationally. Obviously, any pretence at a semblance of rational thinking pretty much went out the window when he posted pictures of himself as a robed-and-halo "Red Cross doctor" with US soldiers praying to him. That will certainly go down in history as the looniest thing any US president has done ... or probably ever will do. But maybe I'm wrong. We still have two more years of Trump and it's still possible he'll top that stunt.

The downside is this ruling opens the door for another bogus conspiracy theory angle for Trump to employ to declare the upcoming election fraudulent. I think we all know that is coming down the road.

I've spent a bit of time on the storied waters of the Miramichi and their other salmon rivers. I've fished all the best beats including Ted William's old haunts. I've spent a fortune there. I've stimulated their stagnant economy. I've never caught a fish there just like scores of others. When you allow "first nations" people to mass-harvest entire year-classes of spawning fish with nets, Americans don't want to go there anymore. They ruined a priceless fishery with their pandering to indigenous accommodation. (accommodation meaning they don't have to follow any conservation practices)

Hey Perfesser Dontario Kneeshooter- The basic problem is that state and local officials develop and maintain voter registration rolls. Blue states are perfectly happy registering non-citizens or non-voting transients (usually homeless druggies with fried brains) to vote either directly or via surrogate proxy ballot harvesting. It is no more complicated than that. As simple a problem as that is to understand, it fails to register among the blind and stupid class or those who prefer a corrupt voting system.

Sounds like I’ll be able to get a good deal on a spring bear hunt if that comes to pass, seriously though all that is going to hurt is New Brunswick outfitters.

As for the natives they’ve been allowed to run unchecked for years and they are very good at destroying everything they come in contact with. The so called “stewards of the land” are about on par with locusts with what they do to any resource they can exploit for quick profit.

It’s hilarious that the liberals in Ontario, Quebec and eastern liberal provinces threaten
To ban U.S. hunters and fishermen. The best hunting in Canada starts in Manitoba and goes west from there. Not east.

Labrador is spectacular for fishing, but it makes Tanzania big-5 safaris look cheap. The reason it doesn't suck is its so remote the first nations can't destroy it all with over harvest.

Ironically, its the Canadian prairie provinces that are spectacular for sportsman. It turns out the Canadian farmer is a far better steward of the land than the alternative custodians.

Don’t be so quick to write of eastern canada Newfoundland is a sportsman’s paradise, brooks full of trout and salmon boreal forests home to moose bear and caribou. All protected by a people world renowned for their hospitality and appreciation for the little things life has to offer.

Nova Scotia has pretty good hunting and fishing in its own right but it’s not as accessible to visiting hunters.

I was going to say, Newfoundland is pretty amazing. I look forward to another trip to the rock!

Watching the footage of the zombie formerly known as Mitch McConnell being wheeled into and out of the Senate, I just can't help but wonder exactly who makes the call that it is time to pull the plug on his status as an active senator and initiate the replacement process. Whatever that process is, it is pretty apparent that it should have already been engaged.

Nah, at least not for the senate. Repeal the 17th amendment, restore the power of the states to the republic.

There's a reason the founders left certain powers to the states

• ratifying treaties with a 2/3 majority
• advice and consent for appointing federal judges
• advice and consent for other federal officers and ambassadors
• removal by conviction on impeachment of federal officers

Well it is not a simple issue to fix. It's not as simple as changing conservation rules, and it is not "accomodation." No pandering either.

Canadian First Nations have constitutional and treaty fishing rights that stretch back centuries. This is not some new idea or program or pandering.

Interestingly American treaty rights and the Reserved Rights Doctrine work pretty much the same way.

Suggesting that Canada "allows" native Canadians to fish in an almost unrestricted fashion is kind of like saying the U.S. government "allows" you to bear arms or to speak freely. It kind of misses how the whole things works and what the constitutions of both countries mean.

Do you think the United States accomodates you by allowing you to bear arms?

Last I checked Marshall ii says the crown has the right to regulate the fisheries, yet we have feathered locusts destroying every natural resource they can get their hands on in the name of a quick buck. 50 dollars will buy a five gallon bucket of lobster tonight in Yarmouth. Lobster that was caught blatantly out of season for “ceremonial purposes”. They don’t even bother to measure or sort the v notched females out.

Up until the population took a complete nose dive 500$ would hire you a “feathered tag” which was a native willing to travel with you to Cape Breton and claim the moose you shot was his.

Glass eels are worth 3-500 dollars a kilo to anyone who can get them onto the reserve so the natives can sell them for a quick turn around at high profits claiming they caught them themselves.

The Yarmouth band of natives has enough commercial fishing licenses that every member of the band should be upper middle class at least. In the wake of Donald Marshall the government bought them 10 complete enterprises ( 10 boats fleets of gear and the licenses to run them) not to mention scallop quota hulibet quota snow crab quota ect.

The band members are not even energetic enough to fish their own licences they simply lease them back to the commercial fleet and make a few select individuals rich while the rest live in squaller. They also have a hotel and casino on reserve, a reserve mind you with only about 300 residents yet half the houses you could throw a cat out through the wall of.

You just can’t teach or buy ambition that’s the real problem.
