Deer Season 2026

About to start putting in plots to supplement my corn field. Will start with a 1/4 acre now plot on September 12 or 13 and then the main plot around the 15th of October.
Our bow season comes in on October 15th and from then on until February 10th there is some sort of deer season. Rifle season will come in on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
Our limit is 3 bucks per year one of which must have 4pts on one side, the antlerless limit is 2 per day except on a day that you kill an antlered buck.

Anyone up for killing 238 deer a year LEGALLY?

Alabama?

First sit of the season this morning, back in one of my favorite spots. Really muggy this morning, saw 17 does from 7 to 10 o'clock, no bucks. We can start shooting does Tuesday.

Farmers finally got most of the corn cut and we were able to plant a couple of fall/winter plots yesterday.

On the left side of this field there is a six wide small harrow plot running the length of the field. Planted with soybeans, oats, turnips, radishes, clover, beets, rape, kale and chicory. We will probably topseed with more oats, radishes and winter wheat as the season goes on.

Combine left enough corn in the fields to last a couple of weeks. Mostly oaks on the wood line of the field, so there's usually plenty of acorns.

Yeah hold my beer, I have killed 5 roe deer bucks this year. Started in May.

I am not looking forward to moving back to America, the opportunity lost in Western Hunting and living in a 100% draw state is kind of hell.

Early season while the corn is still standing is a fantastic time to stalk deer. As soon as the corn yellows, good Bucks will start feeding on it till it's harvested, and they aren't quiet when they do it. I've been able to sneak up on quite a few Bucks that were busy tearing up an ear of corn still on the stalk.

The grass greenbelts make it easy to get close without snapping twigs or crunching leaves. If you have a good tree to put a stand in close to a greenbelt, that's an ideal place to use a Decoy.

You can always hunt with one of us in the East. Deer, turkeys, gators and maybe Black Bear.

In Wyoming, they have unlimited Whitetail doe tags on occasion.

It’s been kinda of a dry summer and the cotton mouth have come out to the hay field
There more of them in there than I have ever seen before they come out of the dry swamp.

Rattlesnake this year the biggest I got had 11 and a botton
And a buddy that’s a timber cruiser killed one 17 and a botton said it was at least 7 ft and was as big around as one of my arms
( that’s not little)
Now, You're supposed to be a Texan to lie like that, lol. Any pics would be exciting....

I don’t know what it is about pic
If it’s where I am at with bad service or how the phone is set up now or what
But I have not been able to post pictures for a long time here
They will get down loaded 55-70% and just stop
Witch sucks
Because I was giving some pic by a older cousin that has a few big deer from 75 and today a pic of my grate grandpa farm house from some where in the middle to late 1800s

I shouldn't ask...I have not known how to post a photo since I've been on this forum!

It’s no problem
I am not really good with computers
And you would think fl would have good internet/ cell service but it’s still hit and miss in place in the panhandle

Its just way too hot here in Ga .You swat bugs and sweat and get ticks and does blow .I will go when its 65 .

It was 64f yesterday morning when I shot that one.

Mornings have been nice here past couple of days, still getting pretty warm in the afternoon.

Our rut is so late I saw a pair of twin fawns yesterday that couldn’t have been 2 weeks old! That’s why I won’t shoot a doe unless I can watch her for a long while and be reasonably sure she has no fawn.

Ours are done nursing by now for the most part.

From what I'm hearing our doe harvest is down a good bit statewide. Im going to try to shoot 3-4 over the next couple of weeks. The property that I hunt is overrun by does right now.

I am not far from the ga line
In fl.
And we have to watch that all of hunting season.
I have seen spotted fawns in Dec.

We’ve had so much warm/hot weather the grass won’t stop growing. My side job of mowing is cutting into what should be scouting after work.

Dove opener and teal/early goose about did me in. I’m looking forward to some cooler weather, but I hope it lines up with actual hunting dates instead of missing them by multiple weeks.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
