Sable taxidermy ideas

Many taxidermist in Africa use off set shoulder mount instead of wall pedestal.
You described what you’re looking for very well and an attentive taxidermist should be able to mount it by your description.
Have them send you pictures of the form before they mount him for your approval. They should be able to modify any form to your satisfaction.
 
Here’s a few different wall pedestal mounts, the roan could be converted to a wall pedestal fairly easily. My sable is the same.
One thing I do on most of my wall pedestals is I use the Full Range Hanging System, they swivel and you can tweak them to get the angle you desire.

I also like any mount down low in a room . Floor pedestals or wall mounted animals have more visual impact when they are lower on the wall.

I did not do mine going to the wall but in other mounts such as springbok where color and pattern matter, I have had the taxidermist “alter” the form to give me the full shoulder clear to the wall-it’s very easy but they must know that is your preference.
There are some very good wall pedestal hangers, I prefer the “super lock system” available from McKenzie. Older post, I hope yours turned/turns out how you want it.

This is what I ended up doing: one pedestal mount and two shoulder mounts, one hard turn left and the other hard turn right.

I love seeing how taxidermy mounts have evolved over my 40+ years of hunting. Mine, mostly having been mounted in the 80’s and 90’s, are all shoulder mounts looking straight forward. Those really took a lot of imagination! lol
