Need some ammo for a gun I just bought. Getting some from Hendershots, but wanted to see if anyone here had anything sitting around first.

Thanks!

Raven Rocks Precision has properly head stamped Norma Brass if you want to reload or travel with the gun.

I’ve been considering it, but I don’t reload, so I would be starting from scratch on learning + gear. I have begun calling suppliers to see what the lead time would be on dies.

There are a couple of boxes 416 Taylor on gunsinternational and gunbroker
Contacted the seller on GI today. Buying those. I also ended up calling Doubletap and they said that they will probably do another run soon.

If you're going to shoot a caliber like the 416 Taylor you should learn to reload. Look for some used equipment. I'd suggest RCBS equipment since their customer service is great. If you ever need a part for one of their products just call them and they will send it free or charge. I'd look for RCBS Rockchucker press, scale and powder measures to start. Start right here with a WTB post. A good reloading manual would be one of the first things to buy.

Shipping will be expensive for the press so look locally. If you have any gun auctions in your area, check them out since they often have reloading stuff for sale as well. There are loads of info. available online from powder and bullet manufactures as well.

Good luck. You picked a great cartridge to get started.

I plan to - just haven’t. Been saving other brass to eventually reload.. I plan to buy 100-200 loaded rounds to start along with a few hundred cases.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
