I am putting up for sale my 1908 WJ Jeffery 475 No 2 Jeffery Double Rifle.
The provenance I have on this gun is limited to:
1. Having a copy of the entry in the WJ Jeffery journal.
2. My purchasing it from Larry Cheek of Dallas Texas (via his son). Larry used it on an elephant hunt in Zimbabwe and there is a picture of him, his elephant, and the gun in Richard Harland's book "NDLOVU The Art of Hunting the African Elephant".
3. And the six hunts I did with it which were all one-shot kills with open sights for the following:
a. A Roan heart shot at 10-15 yards, died instantly.
b. A Lion shot between the eyes at 10-15 yards, died instantly.
c. A Rhino shot in the shoulder at 10-15 yards, died instantly.
d. An Elephant side brain shot at 18 yards in the Jesse, died instantly.
e. A Cape Buffalo shot in the shoulder going through both lungs and destroying the top of his heart. He ran a short distance, turned around to look at us at which point I hit him again with a quartering shot in the front shoulder. He pivoted and went about 10-15 yards into the brush and fell over dead. Because of the results of the first shot Buzz Charlton called it a one shot kill, and who am I to argue with Buzz.
f. A leopard shot between the eyes at 3 feet in a full charge, died instantly.
The accuracy of this gun is without question. And after the above hunts I have to say that the 475 No 2 Jeffery is the finest caliber a Safari client could hope for. Its huge shell keeps chamber pressures low compared to other Nitro Express calibers, and its .488 500gr bullet in soft and solid is without peer.
Probably the reason it's not the preferred double for Professional Hunters is the lack of commercially available brass and bullets. But the buyer of this amazing double won't have that problem because included in the sale is:

The above were loaded by myself and my gunsmith under each other's supervision. We used 132gr of H1000, no filler needed, and Federal 215 primers.
Additionally loaded for Larry Check by someone unknown to me are:

The loading label states 83gr of IMR3031 and Federal 215 primers. I should note that a handful of the cases show partial surface tarnish.
Reloading components include the following:
RCBS FL Die Set including the shell holder.
RCBS Berdan Decapping tool.
Another "die set" (in quotes because that's how it is labeled) that I got from the previous owner of a type unknown to me.

20 new Bell cases
166 Berdan primed cases (a few without primers). I purchased these to pull the Kynoch bullets for my reuse. All were cordite loads.

The rifle itself is in really great condition, especially considering it is 118 years old. Bores look great, everything is tight. It is an extractor gun. LOP 14 7/8". I believe there is a very slight right cast.

...A Very Solid Jeffery 475 #2 Nitro Express with Excellent Bores that was made in 1910 [actually 1908 per Jeffery's Journal] with 24" Chopper Lump Barrels, Dolls Head Extension, 1/4 rib with 1 standing & 3 folding rear sights, Nitro proved at 80 cordite & 500 grain bullet, Scalloped action back, Bushed strikers, No cheekpiece, Sling eyes, 14 3/4" LOP over a 7/8" Silvers pad, The proper and correct Big Bore weight of 11 lbs. 7 oz., The sides of the action are engraved with the Indian jungle scene that is often seen on this grade Jeffery, Nice wood with nice color, The buttstock and forend wood remain very solid with a lifetime of game field use left in both the forend and buttstock, The strength to this gun is the bores & wood condition, The bores remain excellent, The barrel blue redone & now at 99%, The wood completely refinished & now at 99%, The checkering is at 99%, The frame has been recolor hardened and still at 100% case colors. This is one solid rifle that remains in very sound condition with excellent bores and nice rifling from throat to muzzle. This piece is tight on the face with a lot of bite left. The whole is cased in a deluxe Oak & Leather trunk by Marvin Huey in 1994, It has the proper addressed trade label and complete with nice accessories....

This is a very fair price considering the rarity and condition of this double, and enough ammo and components (that are no longer available) to hunt dangerous game for a lifetime. Show up at camp with this over your shoulder and be prepared for lots of attention. Be the next caretaker, take it hunting, and continue its great African legacy.
