How many are addicted to Africa and need yearly fix?

I wish I could go every year. But fortunately, I can afford to go once every three years.

NO Kidding, Delta is high for next year compared to this past trip! But I like the direct flight out of Atlanta and will pay what it is. This year it is Main Cabin just past the middle galley row 40,
 
Every couple 2-3 years for the last 12 years or so, hope to go a few more times, probably a big safari including elephant possibly for my 60th B-day, then quite frankly I may be done. I really don't enjoy the travel anymore. Been traveling my whole adult life for work, then mix that in with hunting travel, it get's to be enough already. I'll probably just go to the Rockies every year after that, drive myself and shoot elk, that's always a good time.

I agree on the travel. I’m 65 and refuse to sit in coach for any flight over 4 hours. On European trips I buy premium select and use global upgrades to fly delta one on the overnight eastbound legs.
 
Hopelessly so.

I’m not booking anything in Africa for ‘27 however. I’m on my PH’s client list for short notice leopard. I had to pass on a cost-split 2 leopard hound hunt because it fell on the calendar for this week. I’m leaving for my moose hunt in a couple days… So, I’m on his short list for next year. Plus my wife wanted to go to Budapest for Christmas in ‘27. So we’re going to tie in a mufflon ram hunt for that week.

I am booked with him for ‘28 for buff, hippo, leopard in Moz with my wife for our dream safari. Very excited for that.

‘29 is looking pretty strong for another trip to Moz with a group of friends. Looking forward to that as well.

So, overall, yes. I think I’ve got it pretty bad.
 
Need to go-yes. Can go-no. This sight is about the absolute worst for this addiction problem. East cape 2028 cannot get here fast enough.
 
Well, I’m taking the wife down for a Garden Route tour next month that ends at Port Elizabeth, which is really close to 450,000 acres of free range hunting , so I’m going , but it’s not really a “hunting trip”, ya see?

And the son and daughter in law wanted to go down for some hunting next year in July, so I might have agreed to act as a tour guide for her 1st trip to Africa, and I’ll bring my rifle, in case one of theirs breaks, of course. :cool:
 
@Mark Biggerstaff - Yes I have the same addiction and I must go every year if I can somehow make it happen. We leave in 2 weeks for our 2nd trip this year, friends and family affair with both my sons joining us along with my older son's fiancé and her parents (it will be the parent's first trip to Africa). Fellow AH member @Katy Darren and his wife also coming along. Primary targets are cape buff and Nyala. Going to be a great trip.

I currently don't have a African hunt booked for 2027 because I have a Mexico hunt and a Greenland hunt on the books. But if I can somehow make it happen would also love to go to Africa as well. If not, will definitely be back in 2028, probably Moz or maybe Zambia.

If you haven't got 2028 booked yet you should join me for a buffalo hunt in the Free State. The guy that was supposed to go with me had to cancel due to a job change. I have the whole place to myself. 20,000 acres and beautiful private accommodations for up to 8 hunters or couples. Great plains game available as well. I'd love to make some new friends and have a great hunt. My hunt is paid for, but I haven't set any dates yet because I was waiting on my buddy. I'm flexible on dates. If anyone is interested PM me.

You are in need of counselling when you have 3-5 trips already scheduled and you are planning while you are on Safari another trip!

If you have 5 or more scheduled back to Africa someone who cares for you needs to consider having, you institutionalized.

I leave in a few days for Tanzania my second trip of the year (Uganda in Feb)

I have checked on that, and a 2 week safari is cheaper than a 2 week vacation to an institution....
 
At this point in my life, there is nothing I’d rather do than hunt in Africa. My kids endorse my desire and I enjoy taking them with me when possible.

I’m 3 weeks away from my next safari, which is to Mozambique. Then a month after I get home I’ll be off again to Zambia. Still dealing with wife’s long term illness so being careful about 2027 & ‘28. But I’ll keep going as long as health & finances hold up.
