I was looking around and found out a little late that an introduction is in order. I am from Montana, from around Mount Jumbo in Missoula. I fly fish and have taught my sons and grandsons and granddaughters to fly fish. Over the years I have built several rifles. But only for my personal use or for family members. I love the .375 H&H. I am currently working on a .416 Rem. Mag and a .416 Taylor, both of which look like they will shoot very accurately.
"Only accurate rifles are interesting." I have enjoyed watching and learning from all of you long time members. Good luck with your hunts.

Welcome to the forum. Good luck on your builds. I’m very fond of my 416 Taylor, it hasn’t been to Africa but it hunts lots here in Canada.

G’day from Australia

:S Welcome:

I hope you enjoy this "place" as much as I have, Sir!

Thank you, sir. I already have enjoyed the site. I did not mention in the initial post that I do enjoy horse packing into the Bob Marshall Wilderness complex for summer trips and fall hunting. I am about finished with those trips however. I am a little old for those trips and my hunting friends are almost all gone. But the memories remain.

Welcome to AH MTJumbo!

"Only accurate rifles are interesting." I have enjoyed watching and learning from all of you long time members. There is a lot you pick up just from seeing how experienced people approach a hunt, what they pay attention to and what they ignore. I like that kind of slow learning curve in other hobbies too. With Tropical Casino https://tropical-casino.com/ for example, I tend to spend more time figuring out which games I actually enjoy, how the bonus features work and what the limits are before settling into anything. Good luck with your hunts, and thanks for sharing so much useful experience here.
Welcome aboard, glad you found the intro thread. Sounds like you've got the good life figured out up there, fly fishing and building rifles with the family around you.

That Whelen quote is a good one to live by. The .375 H&H is hard to beat as a do-it-all, and you don't see many folks taking on a .416 Taylor these days, so it'll be neat to hear how that one comes along next to the Rem Mag. Post up some pics and range reports when you get them both dialed in. Plenty of us would enjoy following that.

Be careful of this Wolfen guy. 2 messages. Both trying to sell something. He PM'ed me trying to sell something and he PM'ed my friend on here trying to sell something. Fishy.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.
