Any Sako rifle fans on AH? Let's see them

I hope your Black Bear shots as well as mine. One hole, 5 shot groups at 100 yards
I had a Black Bear in 308 Winchester and it was the most accurate Sako I have ever owned. I sold her to a mate. It’s still a tack driver and he loves to remind me

My one and only Sako in the safe. Finlight 85 in 308. I replaced the factory stock with an aftermarket carbon fibre stock. It’s a nice rifle…but if I ever replace it I’ll replace it with a Tikka T3X.

My wife’s Black Bear in .308 is a one hole gun. Great sights, trigger just an amazing rifle for the money.

Sako late 50s magnum Mauser action .375hh.

My second rifle I ever bought. Beyond lucky to come across it. Didn't know what it was till years later.

Bought from the original owner. He had added lead to the forearm and stock. And it's a pleasure to shoot

My son has a Black Bear in 308W. It shoots brilliantly with Barnes TTSX 168 gr at close to 0.5 MOA.
He has shot numerous plains game with it and really loves the synthetic and compact package it provides. It’s topped with a Zeiss 2-8 scope that really suits the rifle.

Shown here with a nice Waterbuck shot in Limpopo a few years ago!

QUANDRY, ir should do very well with 200gr. TTSX or TSX, or other Mono's.

Sako A1 in .222 with 6-24X40 m4200 Elite. Still shoots 1/4" and better at 100 yards.

I have developed a good shooting load with 180 ABs with 4831SC. Most promising is 175 Fed Terminal Ascents with 4350. That’s printing sub .5” 3 shot groups mid 2900s. Need to longrange and large group test next.

Didn't know anyone made such light bullets on 9.3mm. Even the 200's were a surprise, unless you were talking anout .338's or .358's.

New Model 90 in 375 H&H with set trigger -- I will be going to Africa next April.. Really love the magazine on this thing.

I bed an early Sako for a friend of mine back in the late 70's. It was a .375 H&H magnum. I use devcon plastic steel. I had to grind the bloody steel ROUND recoil lug 1/2away with a tungsten carbide grinder. Then I bed in a steel pļate with the devcon plastic steel. I then bed in his blrd action. Ior used that rifle for of sevral of years to with the local Smither's R&G club turkey shoots. It was a TRUE 3/4", 5-shot chsmpion.

Bloody phone wont make clsrification changes.
Sorry. The recoil shield was flat. The peoblem was with yje gound bloody steel crossbolt. Thst is what I ground to allow a flat recoil lug surface to press against.

That SAKO is a hell of an accurate gun. The round crossbolt SUCKS BIG TIME. It acuses POI shit being a rouded surface. (on the 1970's SAKO's.)

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
