How big is an Eland Wall pedestal mount?
Width? Height?
Shot a rather big one and trying to figure out if I want a wall pedestal or a neck mount.
Running out of space.

They are as big as a cape buff bascially. Not sure if you mean a true "neck mount" (which I find personally tacky :p ) but a straight-ahead shoulder mount is going to take up the least amount of wall space. A wall pedestal takes up the most amount of horizontal space on a wall.

Yes a true neck mount.
I also thinks it's ugly but a real shoulder mount will be too much in the way! A wall pedistal mount will not get out so much from the Wall but is wider! Have done five huntingtrips to southern Africa so the space is limited! Like the wall pedistal mount the best but don't know if I could squeze one in!!!

Get a floor pedestal done and tell the wife it's going in the kitchen!

I have an Eland pedestal that I fabricated a swiveling hanger bracket to mount it to the wall. The mount is big, no two ways around it.

I would not do a wall mount for eland. Takes up too much space, can't be adjusted easily and is quite heavy for the wall to hold. Consider the floor pedestal...

Very nice trophies, gents!

I dont think a WP will save any extended space INTO the room. I straight, upright mount will have same extension as a WP

I did a euro with mine because of the space issue of how big a shoulder mount and the space it takes

The eland I took with @GAME 4 AFRICA SAFARIS was quite large and I did a shoulder mount. I have a large man cave and so it sits nicely above my fireplace. However, it will be moved when the Cape buffalo arrives later this year.

I also have an eland WP mount that my daughter took. To give some perspective, the top of the fireplace mantle is 6ft.

I have a neck mount and honestly I bet it takes up about the same amount of real estate as a decent shoulder mount kudu because the kudu has so much more in terms of head gear.
So here's some rough figures of this eland. 30 inches from wall to nose, width across the neck at its widest appears to be 23 inches, and approximately 50 inches from tip of horn to level with the bottom of the mount. Mine has average horns so something longer/pointier are going to add more. Wall pedestals definitely helped bring my kudu towards the wall, but an eland, perhaps not as much. And while many do not like shoulder or neck mounts, to me what makes a good one from a stale one is some offset. Bolt 90 degrees out of the wall with the thousand mile stair kills a good mount IMO. Mine has a right offset, far more natural.
Oh, I do have a peaked ceiling of around ten feet that also helps.

Honestly, none of these take up the space of a good elk or moose shoulder. If I ever get a moose, it's antlers and skull.

Green Chile is that Eland the monster you shot ? If so the angle of the pic didn’t do it justice.

I laid in bed last night thinking I need another Eland hunt.

Not want. need. ;)

Do you have the measures?
HWD?

Ah, good point Jay. I just snapped a quick photo but here is a better angle...

I have a shoulder mount on the wall, and it turns out there are only two possible places it might fit in my house, which isn't small.. I'd do a pedestal mount instead if I did it again.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
