So I will be honest. I prefer sweeter Bourbons. I am definitely a wheat guy - don't care for Ryes too much (Bulleit and Heaven Hill Ryes are OK). This is a sweet forward bourbon. VERY easy drinker. I get Vanilla and hard candy. If you are a Stagg Jr 140 proof kind of guy, this won't be for you. But I absolutely love this. It came out at $100 and flew off the shelves. But something weird happen, it can now be found everywhere for 40-60.
Funny... I've owned the Rigby GC, Rigby shirts, and Rigby hats for about a year. I didn't own an actual Rigby until..... YESTERDAY!!!
I'm sorry. Do what now? I haven't seen a post from you about a new Rigby. Did I miss it or is it coming? Back to topic; I love a rye, a good rye that is. Funny enough, the rye that speaks to me the most is Willet 4-year. It's not great, but it's consistent and expected. I think it's overpriced, but I know what I'm getting. I think the rye makers are trying too hard to convince bourbon drinkers. I'm like, "Be authentic; don't compromise."

Hey... by any chance are you familiar with Rabbit Hole? I love their stuff. My Army buddy and I will be doing the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky August 17-22. That Tuesday we will be having dinner with Kaveh Zamanian, the owner and founder of Rabbit Hole.
I'm not familiar, but I'm learning. How did you swing the KZ dinner? Very cool. Okay, none of the gun folks are looking at this appreciation thread so your secret is still in play. I've passed on purple tops due to the price tag; maybe one day I will drop my britches and go all out. Looking forward to your official reveal.
So, long story. Last year for Veterans Day week my buddy and I went out and did our first half of the bourbon trail. One of our stops was Rabbit hole. We had never heard of it. We were both blown away. All their samplings were fantastic. It wa totally out of the blue because we were expecting nothing. When we came back home I researched who owned it and found out it is an Iranian Gentleman who fled as a young boy in the 70’s. He grew up in the US living in California. Iran to California- quite the culture shock. He hit his masters and opened a very successful psychology practice. That’s how he made his first million. He married a girl from Kentucky. He fell in love with bourbon. He told his wife he wanted to sell his psychology practice and open his own bourbon distillery. She said “Of you want to go down this Rabbit Hole, I’ll go down with you.” So he named it Rabbit Hole. I loved his story and sent him a very long ( I must admit- funny email). I told him how we expected nothing. That we liked the classics. We loved the distilleries out in the country and he has a little hell hold on a busy intersection I the city. We told him it should have been terrible- yet we fell in love. He responded the next day saying the next time we come out there he wanted to break bread with us. So we our doing the second half this month. I smelt tons reminder email that he said he would meet us. I expected nothing from him. He responded again and made plans with us. I’m pretty psyched.

Tuesday night we are having dinner with Kaveh Zamanian, the founder and owner of Rabbit Hole. I have been to Makers Mark - probably the prettiest one I’ve seen. My buddy and I did 10 last year and are finishing it up this year.
I have had some decanter for the mid 70s and I think they were better than normal jb in the 90-00s
