Suggestions on things to take for first Cape buffalo hunt- Zimbabwe

Congratulations — a first buffalo is a special one. Having put a lot of hunters (and myself) onto buffalo over the years, the honest truth is the most important thing you can "take" isn't gear — it's a rifle you can shoot cold, off sticks and off your knees, without thinking about it. Practise from field positions, not the bench. A .375 is plenty; bring quality soft-points for the first shot and solids for the follow-up, and know where the shoulder is from every angle. Beyond that: broken-in boots, quiet neutral clothing, binos small enough that you'll actually carry them, and something for the dust. Leave the gadgets at home, and go in fit enough to walk — buffalo are found on foot, and the hunt is usually decided by whether you can still make a steady shot after hours on the tracks. Hold that first shot till it's right and you'll be fine.

Just a few weeks away from first my Cape buffalo and Africa hunt in Zimbabwe with CMS. Can't believe it's almost here. I know I have to buy a couple of light safari outfits, long pants I guess and short sleeve shirts. I think camo is not allowed. Any particular online stores sell these? I looked at Cabela and didn't see much. Would appreciate any other items you guys would suggest that I need to take. I'm not taking a firearm and will be renting there. I did get Jim Green boots! Thanks in advance.

Congratulations!!

Great Buffalo!!

Reza, that is exactly the bull you want for a first — look at those bosses, that's an old campaigner who's done his fighting. A .375 with Barnes and a steady first shot is the whole recipe, and by the sound of it you did the tracking hours to earn him. Congratulations, and welcome to the club; there's no cure for it now.
