Yep: he was right to ask and you were right to respond in a constructive and low key way.
Another curious question - what causes that cool/beautiful "fold" in the wood pattern on the stock by the butt?

My short answer would be that our Heavenly Father caused that. Nature’s natural beauty.
A wood expert likely knows more.
Is that a scar in the history of the tree? That wood is straight as an arrow and thwn that lovely fold. I likey.
