Zimbabwe Omay Hunt Quota Available 2026

Looks like good deals - already booked for 2026 though. However I don't really understand the structure of the pricing of day fees. Maybe I'm not getting something but why would e.g the day fees for an elephant/buffalo hunt be 100 usd more/day for the same duration as an elephant only hunt? In the first case there will be an additional TF of 6000 so in my logic it should be thw other way around - or is there a costly/long relocation required for the multiple species setup?

More work is put in by the outfit when hunting certain animals. For example, croc could require a lot of boat fuel, elephant will require more boots on the ground for recovery. Most day rates increase when you add more dangerous game. Local council could also want more funds depending on animal.
 
Same goes for logic of they could just sell a buff hunt seperate and an ele hunt seperate. Thats commonly why the overlap in higher day rates together.

Very common. I remember when first started looking at Zim years ago. I figured I could book a buff hunt and "add on" a tuskless for the trophy fee alone. I just assumed, but multiple outfits quickly (and nicely) let me know that's generally not how it goes.
 
My first Zimbabwe hunt for tuskless was with Lindon Stanton's outfit. He allowed me to also take a buffalo for trophy fee only. It was an end of the season hunt though, so that may have been the reason.
 
Darn, I wish I had not booked my Namibia buffalo hunt. I would have taken the buffalo/tuskless hunt in September.:cry:

If quota is unsold and you’re on a hunt and willing, most outfits will sell at just the trophy fee.

Same goes for adding another of the same species. If you want to take a double buff in Zim, the trophy fee will normally go up because they can’t sell that hunt to someone else unless it’s end of season.
 
That’s exactly what I took when I hunted with D&Y…their buff/tuskless hunt is a good value…no I did not get my tuskless but that’s hunting

I would jump all over this if I wasn't already going to be in Tanzania for the month of September!
If August dates were just a little later by 7-10 days I would do this and then Tanzania!
