Good day all!

Many may be familiar with Vaughan Vosloo of Untamed Hunting on YouTube, and some may have had the joy of having him along on the hunt.

My name is Ross Vosloo, Vaughan’s cousin, and I am the Bladesmith and co owner at Untamed Knife Company.

We make hand made knives, all designed for the hunter to use in the bush. We do everything from periodic model drops (all still made by hand in house) to bespoke one of a kind custom pieces, to folding knives.

In particular, as a Bladesmith, I take great joy in hand forging Damascus steel blades. I am also an apprentice member of the ABS, American Bladesmith Society, and I plan to submit for my JS stamp as soon as I am eligible, in late 2027.

Untamed Knives is still a very small family business. Vaughan has the pleasure of being in the bush for most of the year. I work on every single knife that we make, along with a small 2 man team that assists me in some of the tasks such as hand sanding and rough grinding. My wife Danielle handles all of our admin, including keeping myself and Vaughan on the level!

If you are interested in your very own custom knife, perhaps made with part of or to commemorate a certain trophy or your time in Africa, or perhaps your interested in our knife drops, then please don’t hesitate to message, comment or reach out.

Welcome Ross, those are some beautiful knives - especially the folder.

Thanks very much John. Believe it not im pushing like mad to have 30 of those ready to go next week for our next drop!

Welcome Aboard Ross and Danielle!

For my AfricaHunting colleagues and friends, I am a happy client of Untamed Knives and TV (video). My introduction came with Vaughan and his ever silent footsteps behind my two left feet smashing leaves like corn flakes while trailing tuskless. I was so impressed with Vaughan’s work ethics and integrity that I took the chance to order a couple Untamed Knives. I could not be happier with the hunt video and knives received!

Love, love, love the commemorative knife! Well done.

It's great to have you aboard. Tina and I really enjoy watching your videos on YouTube.

Best of luck to you here on Africa Hunting. :D

Welcome aboard!

There are a number of hobbiest knife makers on AH (Im one of them) and a couple of other professional bladesmiths.. and a LOT of knife collectors are present as well... your craftsmanship will be well appreciated here..

I'll keep an eye on your drops.. Im always a sucker for a good 3.5"-4.5" hunting profile fixed blade.. If I see one of those come along, I probably wont be able to resist :)

Ross, have you played with Magnacut steel yet?
Unfortunately haven’t had the chance to yet. It’s been on my wish list for a while though. Procut is also looking interesting for the high carbon side

That’s awesome! Always happy to chat to other knife makers. I always find the knife community is one of the most open and helpful communities. Everything I learnt in 8 years of knife making, prior to doing my intro to ABS course, which I only did last year, I learnt by watching, reading and most importantly asking people online about. I never had anyone be anything but helpful!

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.
