An idea that popped up today.

Say, you have a budget, 10, 15, 20K for safari.
You have experience of Africa, multiple safaris already completed, and you have full trust in outfitter.

Would you go on a hunt, without specific plan what to hunt, just to take what the bush offers, and you know trophy fees, animals available around, and available tags? Just to spend quality time there?

FOR $20K I WOULD HAVE A GOOD IDEA OF WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE BUT THEN TAKE WHAT MOTHER AFRICA GIVES YOU WITH OPEN ARMS.

I typically have a "plan".. but I am completely flexible.. I generally want to make an effort for a particular species or sometimes even a specific animal.. but... if the bush doesnt provide, it doesnt bother me at all.. I will bow to the will of the bush and take what she allows me to have..

For me its more about being there and enjoying the experience than anything else.. so Im pretty easy to please no matter how the hunt turns out as long as I believe the PH/Outfitter is doing their best to provide what they committed to providing..

I'd have to very well acquainted with the Outfitter, PH, the family, their friends, staff, pets, etc.

With my luck, it would be a bush rat and large insect safari. All you can exterminate for us, I mean hunt, for $20K!

One other possibility, Mark, volunteer to work with wildlife professionals in Africa. My wife and I hunt and work on game reserves yearly. Hands on and learn a lot. Awesome stuff. More info if it interests you. Marc

Full trust sometimes means complacency after a couple safaris. I’ve done end of season hunts that were very flexible, but it definitely started with a plan. Tell them what you want and let them form a plan around it before you commit. Both sides know what to expect then. A different set of expectations can break that trust easily unfortunately.

I have done it. I had a great trip, mixture of trophies and culls. Each day was see what bush offered and if it was something I was interested in. Outfitter and I had talked about it and made a plan to do just that. Everything from a trophy bushbuck, buff cow to impala females that trip. About 10 animals total.

I have precisely that planned for May. There's a couple priorities, but I'd be thrilled to shoot a monster warthog, impala, duiker, or just about anything. It's much less stressful, and the trophy quality is perhaps even better on average. I wandered into a 17.5" springbok and a 43" sable doing that. ;)

My Tuskless Hunt was somewhat restructured to this. It’s DG focused, but now happening in a different area along the Botswana border. It puts cats on the table, as well as the option for multiple elephants of each type depending on what I want to spend, plus some Plains Game

I could see this being, exploited.

Your hunt plans may change two more times before you get there or when you get there…what if you run across that 70-80 lb elephant :ROFLMAO:

I’m shooting him then selling a few things or putting a pause on my 401k contributions

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
