Georgia/Alabama (Or Anywhere Else) Big Bore Shoot Pine Mountain, GA

@Rare Breed, it’s killing me but I’m going to have to weenie out on the big bore fun tomorrow, I’ve been fighting a severe case of plantar fasciitis and can barely walk, I’m going to try and keep off my feet until some prescription heel supports cow in Monday.
I talked to Jim (Betterinthebush) yesterday and he’s fired up about it.

Funny you should mention that, a 9 footer has been sunning in the old stock pond by the house.

Hhhmmm..... What's the yardage?

Hhhmmm....on land....'gator....croc'.... DG.....hhhmmm.... 375.....Oh, wait this is the US.....Well, Alabama, close enough...... .308 should do the job. Oh wait.... .243 or 6.5CM if your shooting out to 600 yards. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: .

Just need to ask a couple of friends to come over to load it in the truck, take it over to the shed, skin and gut it, have one big neighborhood gator cook out.

I hope you guys have an amazing day! I really appreciate the invite to practice BUT My bride decided we needed to visit the grandkids this weekend … I truly wanted to shoot but I do love the kids AND her, so off to NC yesterday. Kills me to miss especially since I live about 30 minutes from the shoot! ‍
Have a blast! Literally!

@Rare Breed Thank you for hosting the GA/AL Big Bore Shoot today at your farm. My daughter and I had a great time! She said she enjoyed hearing all of the stories and shooting the double rifle with @Esoteric Junkie. Kids are sponges and I’m glad she was soaking up your stories about the benefits of hunting to local people, wildlife and ecosystems.

It was a pleasure meeting so many members of the AH community who attended. Anyone else who assisted Rare Breed in hosting the Big Bore Shoot today, thank you!
 
@Rare Breed and sister, thanks very much for setting everything up. It was great to see everybody there today. I can say now that I have taken the Pine Mountain Big 5. Really a beautiful day and a fun group to catch up with. Can't wait to do this again!
 
What a great time we had today in 85 degree weather no clouds or wind nothing but sunshine!!! We had 12 people at our shoot today with five having to cancel due to business or family issues that are completely understood. Our 6 target range with life Africa animals representing the big 5 world to perfection. My Valdosta group shot all the targets 4 times!!! I was so impressed with the people and their accuracy with some challenging shots!!! We had one young lady Katie James who on her first shot with a DR hit the targeted buffalo at 25 yards perfectly with two shots under an inch

Had so much fun hosting this and giving back to my AH friends! Great time!!!

Me and my son in law had a wonderful time at the shoot today. @Rare Breed and @Esoteric Junkie put in a lot of hard work to set up the course and the gathering area. Enjoyed meeting everyone today and look forward to doing it again sometime in the future.

SO HAPPY IT WAS A GREAT TIME FOR EVERYBODY.. IF YOU DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR I MAY SKIP THE CONVENTION AND COME TO THE SHOOT.

It was a definitely a pleasure meeting and putting faces to names of forum members, and hearing about their recent past, upcoming, and future hunts.

Our own @Fatback will be going on a wild lion hunt with D&Y in the future! Exciting and thrilled for him!!! @Philip Glass went on this exact hunt to get his lion complete with posted video! Dalton also will be his PH. @Fatback is ready given he is a deadeye!!!!!

Your daughter is a natural deadeye!!!!! So enjoyed meeting you both and watching her shoot so incredibly well!!! Also loved seeing and so enjoyed holding some of your magnificent rifles!
