Belgium Brings Back A Gun Making Legend

Regarding the price of USD 250,000, the first double rifle caliber 700 Nitro Express that H&H presented to us in the late eighties or early nineties was also in this price range. A double rifle caliber 700 Nitro Express is often a unique item. I remember that the exquisite gun case that came with the rifle also cost around USD 20,000.

I would imagine if these rifles were actually put into serial production, the 700 would be a one or two knockoff, the 600 slightly less expensive but very, very limited production and the 500 and 470's a bit more reasonably priced.

It's not unusual for builders to create a one of a kind simply to showcase their capabilities and make a splash. It brings attention and can be great advertising, but will never see widespread use.
 
With France being mentioned on more than one occasion here , how is the status for Verney Carron in these days?
 
I missed DSC this year, but know that Armurerie Elysées is a seller of new and used high end weapons. Did they buy the rights from Dumoulin and diversify their business?
 
I just wish the rifle wasn't out of this world expensive.....
 
UPDATE:
I received official confirmation today. These rifles are now built entirely in France with English made barrels.

But the quality is every bit as magnificent as the original Dumoulin rifles which were manufactured in Belgium prior to 2008. Production time for a new double rifle is a mere 20 months. Compare that to some of the other high end bespoke makers who sometimes require up to five years for a bespoke rifle to reach the customer's hands.

Armes Prestige is the owner of Armurerie Elysées and is just a seller of high quality hunting rifles. It is for this reason not out of question that these rifles are built in Liège again. That seems to be the case if you search on Google in French language. However, informations about the current company Dumoulin are extremely poor in all language.

My friend interviewed Mr. Benjamin Rophe who now owns Dumoulin.
