Dear AH Members

The Tsala Safaris team is proud to tell you more about our own area in southern Mozambique.

Welcome to a place few hunters will ever see — a vast, remote corner of southern Mozambique that borders the Gonarezhou National Park and the Save River. This region is steeped in wildness and stories. It was once part of the infamous elephant poaching corridor used by Cecil Barnard, also known as “Bvekenya,” who roamed this land in the early 1900s.Our anti poaching efforts have paid dividends with large buffalo herds and Elephant and plains game roaming the area once again.
Today, this area stands as one of the last strongholds of wild, free-range Cape Buffalo, untouched by fences, vehicles, or modern shortcuts.
Here, we hunt on foot, in a concession that stretches across tens of thousands of hectares of untouched bushveld, where buffalo roam and vanish at will. Our team has been working these valleys and ridges for a while now, often tracking buffalo for days before the chance comes — and even then, it’s never guaranteed.

The diversity of the land is staggering and humbling:
Mopanie Forests: Silent, damp, and dense — a true hunter’s challenge. This is where dagga boys disappear like smoke. In this thick, broken terrain, patience is your best weapon, and silence your ally.
Open Savannahs & Floodplains: Wide expanses dotted with towering baobabs that have stood for centuries. These plains offer glassing opportunities and breathtaking scenery — but they expose both hunter and hunted to each other’s gaze.
Jess Bush & Dry Riverbeds: Thick belts of jess and dry dongas offer shelter to the oldest, wariest bulls. This is the kind of cover that forces close encounters — 30 yards, 20 yards, sometimes less. If your nerves aren't ready, the bush will find you out.
Every step is earned. Every encounter is real. No shortcut. This is buffalo hunting as it should be — untamed , unfiltered and unforgettable.

The hunt begins long before the first track is found. We rise with the sun, drive out from camp to pick up sign, check waterholes, and read the land like a book only the bush-wise can interpret. Our trackers were raised in this terrain, and their instincts are second nature. You’ll hunt side-by-side with men who know the meaning of spoor, wind, and silence. We track. We follow. We learn.
When the moment comes, it’s earned — and unforgettable. The results are better. That’s why our clients return

I just returned from there, the buffalo numbers are insane, while tracking elephants we constantly ran into buffalo, have never seen that amount of buffalo and have hunted most of Africa, incredible place and the new lodge will be amazing for next year, great family as Rare Breed noted, hope to return soon

A few of the plains game , among others , that can be added to this hunt.

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.
