Which firearm do you have to most fun shooting

I enjoy my airguns more than firearms.

They require no hearing protection.

I can shoot them indoors at reduced ranges.

I can buy Match grade ammo at $5 for 300 shots.

The Olympic level air rifles and pistols have triggers better than any firearm.

Do you use larger bore air rifles for deer sized game? If so, what would be the rifle, caliber, and ammo you most highly recommend?

My 12 gauge 3” Magnum Beretta Model 626E with a full choke left barrel & a modified choke right barrel (single selective trigger). I bought it brand new in May, 1989. It’s the gun I use the most regularly. I estimate that in the last 37 years (and counting !) over 3000 bar headed geese & greylag geese have fallen to it. To say nothing of ducks, upland birds, rabbits, Axis deer, Muntjac deer & wild boar.

I wouldn’t replace it with anything if you even offered me a brand new James Purdey & Sons sidelock ejector.

I have almost that exact gun. Mine was full and full but I sent it to briley and had the chokes modified to pattern improved mod with 3 inch hevi shot #2s. It is a hammer on geese.

I enjoy my .400 Whelen the most. From 210 XTPs to 400 Woodleighs it is just a fun “Baby Big Bore” that rarely gets left at home on range days. Seems there is always a new bullet or powder combo to mess with. Far from my most accurate rifle but it does thump!

My 20” .35 Whelen is a close second ….

My 425WR . I just never get tired of it . It is beautiful to handle , comfortable to shoot and accurate . What more could I want . And for driven pheasant my 12g Browning Superposed. It was choked full and full. I lashed out and had Briley chokes fitted and forcing cones opened up a bit . Now suitable for walk up birds .

I love shooting my 28 ga shotguns at 5.5 pounds easy to tote miles too with no kick .My 454 is fun to shoot too .I forgot my ruger mini 14 target models and 375 winchester in big bore 94 .

17 HMR shooting gophers in the springtime hay fields, gophers are about the most fun you can have with your clothes on!
Me too. But with my .22 Ruger American Rimfire or my Savage .17 wsm.

My 14 bore "Sporting Rifle". This was only 140gr. 2F(200yard target load).
My moose load is 165gr. 2F for 1,550fps with the 482gr. ball. Staggers 'em.
The top leaf is zero'd at 300 meters with the moose load for the steel plate at rendezvous.

The most fun I have had was shooting @zephyr 505 Gibbs, there was just something about those massive cartridges, and the recoil was not bad. Of the rifles I own, the 400 H&H is my favourite, slow recoil and wicked accuracy. It’s just fun

I really enjoy shooting everything that's in my safe for a variety of different reasons. From the 22-250 to the 458 Win Mag, they all put a smile on my face. But if I had to pick a couple that are just fun to shoot, I would probably pick some of my favorite plinkers.

I enjoy walking around with my .22 caliber Weihrauch HW77 pneumatic looking for small game. Sitting on a porch with a can of pellets pinging small metal targets is not a bad way to spend an afternoon either.

A few years back I saw an unfired 1989 Ruger Mark II that was owned by Stephen Sanetti, the former President & COO of Ruger, at an auction. It had his employee receipt still in the box & a letter of authentication signed by him. I was surprised I was the only one who bid on it so I got it for $280. It has been a lot of fun to shoot! The guy at my FFL tried to buy it from me when it arrived at his store. :D

The Benjamin Bulldog is a great large bore air rifle. Although there is a .357 version, the .457 is the one to use on Deer+ sized game.

Benjamin and Seneca both sell flat nose slugs specifically for these rifle.

One word of caution on arrow firing air rifles. In many states, they are NOT legal archery equipment, and are therefore only legal during the firearm season, if at all. Check your States regulations.

I've owned AirForce rifles and really didn't care for them. The larger calibers simply magnified the problems that the smaller calibers had.

I get a kick out of shooting my Smith & Wesson 629 V-Comp at the 100-yard range. I shoot off the bench using hand-loads. After I practice a little, I can put 18 out of 25 on paper. I figure that's decent considering the front blade site is about 5 times the width of the standard target. It gives me a lot of practice dealing with recoil when you are squeezing off a round. It takes a lot of concentration.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
