One more firearm...or are you done?

  • I'm all set, not even looking.

  • Always looking but not buying.

  • Maybe just one more, but I'm on the fence.

  • Still looking for "The One" that has eluded me.

  • I keep a "rainy day" fund in case something pops up I want.

  • I like trying new firearms and cartridges.

  • Give me the latest and greatest.

  • I need to buy another vault.

You guys are motivating me to sell some toys. Not sayin I wont get another one if I stumble on it. Should grabbed the Springfield Griffin and Howe 35 Whelen a while back I saw here. Glad someone got it first!

I like my 280AI for everything. Went to Africa last fall and hunted deer /elk speedgoats here in Montana.
I continue to add to my Dakota collection but all I need is the “Traveller model at this point and finding that model is expensive !
I am very close to done with adding guns .
P.S. If you have a traveller that needs a new home please pm me.

When I built my "Monster Jeep" my wife asked, "Do I want to know how much you spent on that jeep?" I responded, "NO", and kept on walking. The next morning I found my laptop open to a picture of a Mercedes SL550, with a Happy Face and a list of dealers who have them in stock taped to the screen. We went car shopping.

So far, rifles equal shoes, bags, jackets - her version of simple math - 1 = 1.
Man im so happy im not married

Here in the UK we are restricted to what rifles we can have, we have to be able to justify each rifle calibre. I would definitely buy more rifles/calibres if it wasn't for the restrictions but having said that I am pretty content with what I have. The restrictions have probably saved my marriage too

I have now too many guns but when you like rifles, too many is usually not enough ! There is always something new that you want to try and you convince yourself that such invest is absolutely needed.

I am trying VERY hard to be done. I used to run the “one in one out” system. It worked great until now. Now I really like my small group of rifles and don’t want to let any of them go. Another factor that has made it easier is that I like to hunt with all my rifles. However where I live we don’t have liberal whitetail licenses (you only get one tag per year) and to hunt our other species you need to be either drawn or buy an OTC tag which requires you to hunt the northern forested areas of the province. I was fortunate this past season to get an elk and a whitetail so got to use two of my rifles. I’m already trying to decide for next season now!
A couple of weeks ago I did go to a gun show in the city just to pass a Saturday afternoon. There 6 or 7 rifles there that really tested my resolve. I stayed strong but there is another show coming to my town in March. Should probably go icefishing that weekend!
On the other hand I know that I’ll likely ge gaining a couple of my father’s rifles in the near future, one of them being his old Savage 99. I’ve been looking forward to the day it becomes mine my whole life. But now that the time is near I’ve found it’s a bittersweet feeling knowing that it means the end of his hunting days are getting close.
Think I’ll go to the gun safe and say hello to my friends!

Currently don’t have any rifle bigger than .375 H&H, so would like to add a .458 WM or Lott to the collection at some point. I’ve hunted with super hot .45-70 in the past, but that’s not the same thing. I’m always on the lookout for a great deal on a classic firearm. Not usually itching to pay top dollar for the “latest and greatest” as they say. A 10 gauge shotgun is something I’ve been interested in for a while too.

Since I wasn’t signed in when I first read the vote portion…I thought it was a poem by someone really struggling not to buy another gun, justifying the purchase, saying I promise I will sell one or two to three to make up for it and make space…and giving up and buying the gun and another safe. Someone just like me. I know the struggle.

In all the woke government anti gun bull shit going on in Australia after the mass shooting of 15 people by Islamic terrorists the anti gun wankers want to ban BELT FED SHOTGUNS i want one as my last gun!
I go through stages.I got into Ruger Bkackhawks and had one in every caliber, some with interchangable cylinders. Then it was rifles in many calibers for every game species. Single and double action pistols, single shot, semi and pump shotguns depending on what competition I was involved in.
Between all of these stages I would weed out all but one or two in calibers I shot the most. I've had some beautiful pieces and some real dogs. I'm down to just a few that have mostly sentimental value because I've had them most of my life. It's fun to take them out for a session now and then just to kind of refamiliarize myself with them. The good old days.

I am far from done. I am definately looking for “the one gun” in a few categories. The perfect African large bore for my eventual hunt. That said if I find it I won’t be selling (some) of my current rifles.

I love firearms. I feel they’re like fine art in many ways where everything has a different perspective.

I love historical firearms. Military guns with history make you think. Well built customs are works of art. Plain Jane every day guns with a story are appealing as well.

I do sell “plain” guns if there is a serious upgrade. Example I sold a plain commercial Browning Hi Power and used to the funds to purchase a WW2 Finnish Army marked Hi Power.

I also live up to my Jewish heritage. Unless I am under fair value for a gun I rarely purchase. My wife has zero to say about me buying as many guns as I wish because she knows I’ve never lost money on a gun. Aside from my business, I don’t buy a gun planning to turn it around, but I want it where it can fund its replacement without costing me money.
I wish I had some Jewish heritage. :-). If I see something I really like, if the price is over market, but within reason, I will buy it as long as it is something I will keep. I have people approach me numerous times a year with excellent pricing on stuff that I don’t think would be utilized and I pass. I can only think of perhaps a couple rifles that I would buy at this point, but I’ve said that—or similar— several times before.

How many of us have said this and ended up with at least four DG rifles? :ROFLMAO:

Best of luck and I hope you find "the one".
I’ve got 13 dangerous game rifles . From 375 H&H up to 600NE . I think I have enough of these things. Now focussed on getting a really good 303 slant box . Ideally a take down - and not necessarily a Rigby . A Daniel Fraser would do nicely . Also I have developed a hankering for a WR Super Magnum Explora with detachable locks . That would see me done … I think .

I had all my practical bases covered for hunting and defense purposes to where I had a gun chambered in a reasonably appropriate cartridge for hunting everything from rabbits to moose except for a DG rifle by probably 21 years old and since then I've mostly started getting into more interesting old stuff or obscure cartridges and wildcats and now still in my 20s I have more guns than anyone I know personally except for my dad. The DG gun is covered now, too. I think my main intention now will be to save and move into higher end stuff moving forward. I do enjoy hunting with original antique guns and have enough feral hogs at my disposal to use them, but I'm still getting a bit of a backlog.

This thread was started by an enabler as a way to draw out the unsuspecting who are misleading themselves into thinking they don't "need" another gun! Need has no place in a discussion of whether or not another member should be added to the flock.
Here he is actively enabling-
@Boyd Brooks, meet @wolfhunter.

You guys might want to talk.

He and a couple others really try hard to push us in this direction-
Just buy a Blaser R8. I wanted a 9.3x62 and the Blaser in that chambering proved to be the gateway drug into that money pit.

And this! Just more of that subtle suggesting-
Im more to the stage of consolidating. My collection. Only really need a DG rifle then ill be done

Just trying to help others here not fall into the trap. When I arrived on AH, there was nothing in the house larger than a 300WM. Now there are multiple 375s, 9.3s, 458s, and I'm eyeballing a 416! Oooh, and this guy just posted a bunch of stuff that needs a new home, another enabler-

I saw that. I really want the rem 600. Only because my grandfsther gsve me the one he got as a kid in the 50s but years ago got stolen from my car in a move. But generally. Im pretty good on gun numbers

I'm getting close to retirement so I've bought (and sold) a few guns lately working towards what I think of as an "efficient gun portfolio", ie a minimum number of guns that cover the maximum number of scenarios.

I have at least one double gun in every gauge including 16 and 28 and a double .30-06 so I am covered for any hunting in the lower 48. Although I'm not planning it, I would like to add a .375 H&H because if I ever go back to Africa, buffalo will be on the menu. I'd love a double .375 but am thinking more towards a stainless bolt gun w/composite stock because I will be doing something in Alaska that would probably involve a bear.

Also important, is making sure that each of these treasures and the memories they carry is purposefully earmarked for particular family members. I've thought about putting a book together with photos of the guns, some of the game taken, and some of the stories along with who should get each gun. But that's for later (Lord willing), I'm still planning on adding some game and stories...

I cast my vote, but still dont really meet the criteria of any of them....
Centerfire arms, I am pretty well set. I have owned /bought /horse traded for quite a variety over the years, but limited funds and storage makes it prudent to sell down what I had to finance other projects/hunts/ firearms that better met my needs and wants.
For about six years now, I have been putting most of my shooting into traditional black powder firearms, and building them myself. I shoot in a league and open shoots in the area every chance I can get, and also use them extensively during our hunting season. This past fall, I sent to auctioni about a 1/2 dozen firearms to finance my most recent project.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
Boela Bekker.
