This is my favorite shotgun and one of the best handling guns I have owned, but I’ve decided to change up so I’m putting my SO5 up for sale.

The SO5 is a true sidelock O/U and is Berettas top of the line clays gun. These are hand built in their custom shop by master gunsmiths on what is widely considered the best sidelock over and under action available.

This example is the Sporting model chambered in 12 Gauge with 29.5” Boehler steel barrels. Has 2 3/4” chambers and a hand filed rib. It is set up from the factory with the mobile choke system. Italian proofed and date coded to 1996.

Features rare factory case color hardened metal throughout, with P. Beretta in gold on the bottom of the action. The stock highly figured and stunning with good strait grain through the wrist. The stock is set up for a right handed shooter with cast and right handed palm smell. Length of pull is 14.5 over a leather covered pad. Drop at the comb is 1.5” and 2.25” at the heel. Over all weight is 8.8 Lb balanced right on the pin. Comes in a non original but factory case.

This gun is in outstanding, almost unused condition showing very few signs of cosmetic or mechanical ware. If you want a handmade sidelock O/U that can stand up to a continuous use this one is for you. $15,000 shipped to your FFL CONUS. I would also be interested in trades for K80s.

If there are any questions please let me know.

I’ve an SO4 great gun! Yours is a stunner good luck with the sale!

I have no doubt it would cost a lot more to buy it new today....lovely, but too straight stocked for me. (and of course if it was left-handed, I'd be all over it, lol.)

Magnificent!

Oh my….back button. Very nice rig there!

I am very interested in buying your SO5... Your photos are very nice and show the stock and barrels condition very well. The one area of importance not shown in any photo are the chambers, ejectors, hinge pins etc. The parts of the action that would also indicate any wear. You've described it as almost unused... photos of the action would certainly provide additional evidence. I look forward to seeing those if you haven't already sold the shotgun.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
