Who has the best Kudu hunting in Namibia?

Kowas Safaris, contact Jacques Strauss. Been there and say amazing kudu.
If you are a bit bold, go to Tholo Safaris in Botswana - saw an average of 20 or more "shooter" bulls a day. I killed 3 that each got real close to 60". Had a blast.

What would you consider a great kudu?

Another option for really great kudu hunting in the Kalahari of Botswana is NKWE Safaris. You will see many bulls during the rut and a legitimate opportunity for a 60”+ kudu

If you want to hunt kudu in Namibia in really big unfenced wild country, contact Emile @KOU KUAS ADVENTURES. Of these two, one was taken in Bwabwata West in the Caprivi and the other in the desert country of Kaokoland northwest of Etosha NP. Ironically, both taken near herds of elephants.

The area where Janneman above is based has very good kudu.
Also have a look at areas like Grootfontein, Tsumeb, Tsumkwe and up along the Caprivi.

Also speak to Peter Kennedy from KZN in South Africa. Over the years, he's made hunting free range super bulls an art.

Hunted with Burchell Wolf Safaris in September, saw a lot of mid-50's kudu, 2-3 a day actually, and they have a total of about 160k acres to hunt. Great location for Damara dik dik and klipsringer as well. My buddy also shot 2 oryx over 40".

Check out Hagen and Birgit Eggert at Omatjete.

I saw several in this class when hunting with @JKO HUNTING SAFARIS this past August in RSA. If I wasn’t tapped out doing a double Cape buffalo hunt, I would have added one to my list.

I assume you are talking 60” type kudu? If talking about hunting experience and not just size, can be two different things. Good greater southern kudu can be found anywhere they are found. Sounds silly but not really. Unless the property is kind of small high fence, never know when a good one might pop up. My choice is Botswana, but that is me. One of the largest bulls I’ve ever seen was just a pick up skull leaning up against a hut at a natl park boundary check station in Zambia. Could have been killed by or died from any number of things. The second largest was in Botswana. If not used to judging them, study pictures with known measurements carefully. Width and shallow curls usually don’t count much toward length. ;)

Aah the search for big kudu!
I am considering Namibia next for this eternal quest. 25 years, 5 safaris and 7 kudu bulls across limpopo, east cape and KZN in South Africa so far. The bottom line is regardless of size kudu are just the perfect big game animal and a joy to hunt. The more one gets selective and focuses on large bulls the more fun kudu hunting gets to me.
12 days looking for 56 inch plus kudu is the plan for now.
Im wondering if Namibia still has the genetics for such a hunt to have a reasonable chance of success?

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
