some beautiful rifles in that caliber (Rigby highland stalker comes to mind)… what’s not to like?!?!?!
That is very kind of you to mention and the sentiment is greatly appreciated.

Amen! It’s shot placement
It drives me nuts when everyone insists 300wm &180gr is minimum for hunting Nilgai here in Texas ( maybe for tourists hunters?)
Recommending appropriate calibers for dense 400-500LBS trophy animals drives you nuts??

Sure smaller guns works - as we all know.

Took mine with my PH's .308

If I was ONLY after a Kudu, my choice of cartridge would likely be 7x64, or .308, or .30R Blaser. Not that those choices are any better than many others, they're just what I like and have, and will work perfectly fine.
If I was also hunting in a dangerous game area, or hunting dangerous game at the same time, I'd likely choose my 9.3x62, or 9.3x74R or .375H&H. Just because you never know what's around the next bend in the river valley, or behind the next bush.
I've taken only two Kudu, one with a rented .30-06 and one with my trusty 9.3x62. When in Lion or Buffalo country, carrying the 9.3 gives me more peace of mind.

You're on the hunt for a trophy Kudu. What caliber are you using?
What ever rifle I have in my hands between the 6.5 CM and the 500/416 NE. They are soft.

I'm a big mid-bore fan and Love the 35 Whelen, at the SCI show this year my dad @Shootist43 gave me a LH Zastava M70 in 9.3x62, so from now on I plan on taking all of my PG with a 9.3x62. If for some reason Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, or Croc end up on the menu the 9.3x62 will handle them too.

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
