After reading Harry Selby's article entitled "No ordinary rifle), I got a bug in my ass to find a 721 and take it to Africa. Instead of one, I bought 3 project guns. After sitting in my safe for a few years, I've decided to move two to new homes.

One is a .270. The action is good. Barrel is poor and needs replaced. Stock is full sized with some odd decorations. The pad is hard and needs replaced. As such, I'm asking $400 shipped.

The other is chambered in .30-06. It seems to have serviceable accuracy for hunting. The stock was shortened by a previous owner and also has a pad that needs replacing. Im asking $475 for that one shipped.

I also have a 721 stock that I picked up to place on one of the guns. Has a rollover style that I planned to take down to Monte Carlo style. Some barrel channel work may also be needed. Ill throw that into the the sale of either rifle for an extra $45 as long as I can ship it in the same box with the rifle sale.

I've bought and sold on AH many times before ( buying rifles/trading rifles/ and selling brass and bullets). I'll ship from my FFL to yours.

Im only looking to recover my costs and have marked the price accordingly; therefore, I doubt if Ill move any on price.

Thanks much,
Randy

This is the article that had me wound up at the time. Enjoy.

Based upon the OP's description it appears to me that it is the 30/06. The .270 has some odd stock decorations.

Ive only owned one 721, a 300 H&H that another AH member now owns.. I old sold it because I also have a 300 PRC and a 300 WM, and continuing to load and store ammo for 3 different 300 magnums really didnt make a whole lot of sense (truthfully I should get rid of either of the other two as well and just stick to one 300 mag caliber to manager)..

I found the 721 to be an outstanding rifle for the price point.. reliable and accurate..

those are very good/fair prices on those rifles IMO... were I in the market for a 270 or 30-06, I'd definitely consider picking one or both of these up..

Thank you for the nice comments on the 721s
some of the other remington 721-722,s i have owned., they were honest no frills get the job done rifles at a very affordable price, the one i wish i had kept was a 721 in .280 rem.

I'm the lucky buyer who bought that 721 from @mdwest. Great rifle, and used it in South Africa this year. My good friend shot all his animals with this rifle, and I shot two Impalas. Accurate all the way up to 285 yds my friend took.

They are great rifles, with great actions. Free bump! Oh, and buy with confidence from @HuntingGold. (y)

I have a question about your scope. Is the Innomount an SR-to-Picatinny mount?

Just moving to DM. Yes, please ask your friend if he knows somebody who might be willing to support a persistent hunt in the snow.
