That didn’t last long. For what it’s worth the standard 215 primers seem to be exactly the same for a lower cost. The 215m are only worth the premium for ELR cartridges where you’re trying to squeeze every once of SD out of your load. For hunting loads it literally makes 0 difference and is just wasting money unless you’re making a 300 Norma mag load to smack elk or sheep at 800+

I agree.

About 5-6 years ago I got to do some 3000 yard shooting with a 338 edge +p built by Shawn at defensive edge. Not my rifle but the owner kindly let me shoot it with him for a day. He used the regular 215’s and we managed 3 out of 5 hits on a 30 inch plate at 3030 yards, first shot we couldn’t spot, second we realized the wind hold was off, then 3 shots well within the roughly 1 MOA plate. ES on his loads was under 10. I feel like the only difference is the color of the box and the amount of weight in your wallet after you buy them. Maybe there really is a difference in compound or anvil or whatever but it’s not one that matters in my opinion.

Match, or bench rest, primers are identical. The match primers are assembled by technicians who have shown the most consistent results in the past.

Please explain what the statement "consistent results " is to mean, I'm confused .

This is correct. Generally the most experienced operators running the machine get the “m” designation. As most can attest it’s really just a waste of money especially for hunting loads.

Raven Rocks also has Norma .458 Lott back in stock.

Thanks, I actually just found 4 bags on the shelf today. Someone already bought 2.

No ETA on the 458 Win Mag, we do have 338 Win Mag and 416 Taylor (both Norma HS) in stock in case someone wants to experiment with necking them up... never tried it and can't say how it'll do, but we're working hard to bring more stuff in. We did get a small resupply of 500 Jeffery though, since that was almost gone.

Shyda's Outdoors in Lebanon, PA has Win. 209's for $49.99 per thousand. I don't know if they ship.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
