The only two true African-Americans I ever knew were a family from Rhodesia another family were from South Africa. This was around 1973 or so in the hills of WV. They all laughingly referred to themselves as African American

- 2016, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under the Obama administration changed the policy, allowing drivers to operate commercial vehicles even if they didn't meet the English proficiency requirements.
- Trump's Executive Order:
President Trump issued an executive order on April 28, 2025, to reinstate the English proficiency requirement for CDL drivers. This order directed the FMCSA to restore the requirement to the out-of-service criteria and issue new guidance on enforcement.

For those unfamiliar, the New Orleans jail had 11 inmates break out of the jail and run across the street; the escape wasn't discovered for 8 hours and then jail staff waited another hour before alerting law enforcement.
