Has to be some whitetail hunters on here!
Looking for high quality outfit for 26 archery. Any leads from recent hunters would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!!

Make sure to apply for a preference point this month!!

@yamoon love all big whitetail country!! 12 years straight in ohio and Kentucky.
Missouri,Illinois,Texas,Oklahoma were also great whitetail destinations and will return.

I need to burn up way too many points for Kansas. Just wasting points at this point to keep them….
One more year and will have enough for Iowa archery.

@sureshot375 on it! Thank you!

Don’t know of any outfitters, but I have noticed a sharp decline in hunters on public lands since Covid. Last year opening day I hunted Clay county public land, did not see or hear a single hunter. You might consider public land hunting.

Here’s an explanation for those asking why….

I've got a good friend with a lot of land in KS. I will be hunting with him in a couple years when I retire. Send me a DM with your contact info and I will pass it along to him if he is interested.

I've been leasing land for 20 years or so. It works for me because I've been doing it long enough to be setup. I have a few good friends that help me. If I had a lead on something good I would share it, but I'm looking for another lease myself to replace a long-term lease we lost last year. Leases are hard to come by.

One thing that seems to be true is that there is good deer hunting across the entire state. You don't have to be in the same unit where a bunch of TV guys have a ranch.

In terms of the Hunting we typically try peak of the rut, second week of Nov. My strategy is to pick a spot and stay there. I think an ozonics is a must. I have also had good luck post rut in early December. It seems like a lot of my Kansas buddies kill nice deer around Halloween when bucks are cruising pre-rut.

Also, tags are getting harder to draw. This makes it more difficult in terms of managing leases and hunters.

The largest body whitetail I have ever seen was during a spring turkey hunt, just north of Lyons, KS.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
