Westley Richards

Following Kevin Peacock’s trip plan to Westley Richards, Holland &Holland, Rigby and Purdy’s is definetly on my bucket list!!!
Let’s go!

Well, I am not sure where to start, So I thought I would just post a few photos, i also want to say thank you all for the very kind comments. This venue is the only place I can learn and share, not many folks around me who are into what we all love this site for. I will again say that the entire process from start to finish was just exceptional. Tons of photos of the work in process and regular updates were the order of the day. The first photo for me was a day of days, when my local dealer called and said it had arrived. The packing was just incredible nothing to chance. Sorry about the quality of the photos, they are not as nice as the ones done at the factory.

The sights are an absolute work of art, The front sight especially. Some folks do not really like the profile but I do. The actual mechanism and detail work is really something.

Thanks for letting me share, I have learned and continue to learn from a really great group of people.

When I ordered, the lead time was 3 years + it is now 5 years +
All I can say is the Firearms that WR produce are, at least for me, well worth the wait.

Would anyone know if they display clothing at SCI?
Phillip,

On the occasions that we have attended there was not really a selection of clothing. The firearms are the main event. They do however always seem to bring a small collection of their bespoke leather products for sale. As to the clothing, the website has a great description and sizing information. If you order something and it does not fit to your liking you can send it back to the US Agency instead of back to England. I have ordered quite a few items and only had to return items twice. The US office is a pleasure to deal with as well.

I’m I the only one thst feels if money was not a concern, and I had to chose between a best quality Rigby and Westley Richards i’d go with the latter.

Obviously for the argument I’m narrowing down to the two gun houses, and not including H&W, H&H, Boss etc.

JP,
Such a stunning rifle! Congrats and I am very happy for you. Do you have plans with it?
Cheers,
Scott

Congratulations @JPetroni, that rifle is what dreams are made from. Congratulations on having survived the 5 year wait time. I'd be going banana's after 5 weeks!

I hope you will use it on many safari's to come. Do not hesitate to get a couple of scratches in. It will add to the character.

Wow, perfection at its best, what a beauty. Congrats sir.

Very nice, in fact almost too nice. Will it ever see the woods or the savanna?

A beauty, congrats :D Cheers:

Simply a stunning rifle! Congratulations!!!

I am at a loss for superlatives - it is simply breathtakingly beautiful @JPetroni, congratulations upon taking such a journey to the pinnacle. If I were a buffalo I would consider it a great honour to be shot by that rifle. Enjoy many happy hunts with it, I hope one day it will come to Zimbabwe.

As a left handed young hunter, this is literally what dreams are made of. I got an early model Dakota Safari in 30-06 this year and it pales in comparison to this amazing piece of craftsmanship.

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
