What is the chances of finding a brand new unfired CZ550 in 7x57?

Anyway I'm happy have been looking for a 7x57 but just could not find one it was either 2nd hand in bad shape or very expensive and new from Blaser, and other european makers.

So I settled to get a 30-06 2nd hand or new on a good deal and then I walked into a gunshop safe one day and what would be the first rifle I spot this 7x57!
It came back after someone wanted it but then decided against it his loss my keep.

So now. I have closed the gap in my calibres from 204 ruger to 375 H&H. Yes you all know I shoot plenty with the 6.5x55 Sweed but its my son's rifle not mine and he will soon get it licensed on his name.

The wood on the stock is quite dark and I'm sure will finish off well with an oil finish so now I need to do my application and wait the long wait for the license.
I have dies and Cases so far but will get more as I go along.
Sweet thing is that I can use same rifle Powder in the 7x57, 375 H&H and the 458 Lott.

Outstanding! Where are you that you have to wait for a license?

South Africa - probarbly will wait for 8 months.

They announced this morning that the Police hasn't printed any Firearm licenses since February 2022.
This will make a long wait even longer.:E Angry:

They will have solved the problem by then.

Congrats Frederik! lekker range of classic caliber rifles you now have!

Congrats on the nice new addition!

Congratulations Frederik on finding a gem. Hope you get your license soon so you can start collecting game with it. The 7x57 is an outstanding round!

Very nice find sir.

Thanks all,

I will use the rifle for sport shooting and hunting.

Sport shooting it will run 130gr Impala bullets at 2800fps for targets not placed out further than 350meters.
For hunting I am going to run 175gr Bullets with lead core at 2500fps.

Going to top it with 30mm tube scope 3 or 4 to 12 or x 16 mag.

Then yes I am also going to add a supressor/silencer I just find it is easier to pick up shots with it especially when shooting gongs.
I now I will loose value in the rifle but the rifle is going nowhere till I'm in the ground for good.

So now there is only space in my safe for a double barreled gun no, not a double but a Shotgun then I think I'm done.

My renewal going nowhere since Aug 21.My new rifle earlier in the same year took 3 months,go figure

Had the same rifle for a time, same time I had the 7x64 and 9.3x62 in that style, the LUX. Sold them all!

It was time to rotate my stock!

Nice find!(y)

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
