Looking To Buy A Winchester Model 70 Safari Express In .375 HH

I’ve been trying to scour the country looking for a Model 70 Safari Express .375HH for a few weeks and not finding anything. I have put my name in for notification everywhere if someone gets one in stock. My local gun shop here in SW Montana has offered to order me one but Winchester is telling them next March would be the earliest availability. The distributors are all out but say they’ve sent a bunch out to shops so far this year. Have a cape buffalo hunt booked for May 2023 and hoped to have one this year to practice with beforehand but may be left to use a PH rifle.

If anyone on AH has one they are looking to sell or knows of a shop that has one please PM me. Thanks

I’m in the same boat.

In your situation, I’d look at the Model 70 Alaskan in 375. There are several on Gunbroker.


There is also a really nice Browning X Bolt Medallion in 375 with open sights.

All are new condition.

If I have an interest in a hunt, I always get the rifle of choice first. This motivates me to book the hunt! I currently have a safe full of hunts I need to book!!! Ha!!

lol, I do that too. I Bought a Ruger Express Rifle in 416 Rigby, 458 Lott, and 375 H and H…for the same reason. They are still in the box. One day…

Do you have a notification on grabagun.com? That is who I used a couple months ago from my M70 Safari in 375H&h. They seem to get a regular supply of all sorts of weapons.

Thanks for passing along the info, I’ve seen these but not what I really want. I have two x-bolts in 300 win mag and 28 Nosler and love the guns but think the 375 may be a little light for my preference and would rather have a CRF. Thanks for sharing

Try Shedhorn in Ennis, they had several 375 Winchesters last time I was in there, one was a excellent pre-64

I have an A-bolt in 375, I don't think it's too lite. I think my 300 kicks sharper than my 375!

I have one with a Vortex 1-4 Firedot, qd rings. It has a few scratches on the stock, Decelerator pad. Weighs about 11# loaded. About 400 rds, dies. Pm if interested.
