I see that Ontario has declared a state of emergency and is threatening to fine, jail and cancel the license of any trucker who does not obey them. Who exactly is going to haul their goods when there are no licensed truckers? Do they think this stuff up on their own?
Precisely. No other minds function that way.

It's been nearly 60 years since I studied history in High School but I recall that from the early 1700s to 1776 there were several incidences where the English King and Parliament initiated actions and responses which pushed previously loyal colonies to completely break ties with England. It appears to me that similar actions are being taken by Canadian authorities as well as several others around the world including the United States, California in particular.

I'm certain that all of these politicians and their advisors had classes on the same subjects. So I can only conclude that the decisions are a result of: A, they forgot/never learned how various revolutions came about; B. Just as their actions regarding the economy, they think it's "different" this time; or C. They think they know what the outcome will be (not good) and choose that option as a means of punishing the citizens for refusing to be subjects.

Why does it seem like every 100 years in the late teens or early twenties it requires an armed conflict to bring the lunatics down and common sense to prevail?
You're right. It's very sad. I would like to know who is crazy and where it is, this common sense.

I guess this is the right place for it, but judging by the speeches of Biden and his top administration officials over the last couple of weeks, I feel like they are almost daring or encouraging a conflict in Ukraine.

It makes me extremely disappointed that it seems like this is being done to A) take the news cycle off the inflation, job, COVID, Freedom Convey, etc news that has not been kind to the Biden Administration and B) so they can launch harsh sanctions against Russian (mostly in name only) to appear tough and keep the Russian collusion narrative going ahead of the midterms.

There has been a separationist movement/conflict in Ukraine for over a decade, in combination with a troop build up for a while (though it has escalated). I dont think the US sending troops into Eastern Europe, does absolutely nothing other than cause more tension and actually give Russia somewhat of an excuse to prepare for war or even take action. We have already said we arent sending in troops so whats the point.

I really hope, this game of posturing will die down. I'm way more worried about what China is doing!

Tale as old as time, amigo. When things get bad domestically, start scaring the populace with foreign boogey men. I'm pretty sure if I bothered to do the research, I'd find that every government which has ever existed in all of history has done this.

Yeah I know, but I can't really recall a scenario where they were essentially telling another country to invade another country. Feel like it is usually more saber rattling than this.

Not for polemics (I don't have a definite opinion): there are other changes in the current conflicts. Some Russian leaders, for example, say that "whipping up hysteria around Ukraine serves to justify the buildup of NATO forces around the Russian borders." This build-up is actually happening. At the same time, the Russian president says that he is not going to invade, and the Ukrainian president says that the danger of invasion is exaggerated. What the hell is going on?

History almost always ends to repeat itself because the masses continually look towards the future without keeping an eye on the past.

I guess one person's "slight incursion" is another's "invasion".
And that too.
But there is a possibility that we are not talking about a local conflict, but a more extensive one, and not only in Ukraine.

Happens every time! Brandon's poll numbers are the worst ever and he's looking to change that. Problem is he might forget what he was going to do to in the first place to change that? LOL

That's also about the point of view. There is an opinion in Donbass that a coup d'etat took place in Ukraine, and only Donbass remained a region where legitimate power was preserved. There are, however, supporters of independence, and supporters of joining Russia. However, they are all fighting together against the so-called "Kiev regime".

I'll just politely call bullshit on that last sentence.

Perhaps the people cheering for the Canadian trucker protesters should be careful what they wish for....

Back After a Long Time – Hello Again!

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a member since 2015 but haven’t been active since 2017. Life got busy, especially with building my second business. Still, I’ve kept my passion for hunting and followed things from afar. Now that I have more time, I’m excited to reconnect, contribute, and be part of the community again.

All the best,
ANDY
