Pay It Forward-Free

I would love a box of those 222s just to set in my display case.
Brad, I got all of them, but if you’d like one of the old design boxes, I’ll try to find the best and send it to you. PM me in “conversations” with your mailing address if you want one.

If you want to receive something for something then i would suggest to create a "for trade" posting or this will become a mess and it would be kinda cruddy to change the original program that the OP/BULLTHROWER338 created. Again, real easy to just go create a for trade ad and go from there. This Pay It Forward was created with a different spirit!
If this comment was aimed at me for asking about 458 Lott brass above, I have several items posted on this thread that no one has spoken for. I've also made several transactions on this thread as well. I've also given several things away on this thread, and have taken nothing in return. So I think ole @Bullthrower338 won't mind if I enquire about something I'm looking for.

Who has some 458 Lott brass and or Large Rifle Magnum primers? I have some good stuff to offer in return!
How many primers do you need and can those be shipped via USPS or does it have to be FedEx

Primers, unless they are in the case, can only be shipped if you have a hazmat certification. If they are loaded in the case, they can be shipped as standard ORM-D ammunition. Huge PIA to ship primers or powder and the fines are not worth trying to do it without certification.

No worries Charlie. I have enough for now. Midway gets them in every now and then. I was just making conversation for the most part. Lol! You need to keep what you have, as you never know when you can get more!

Hmmmm…wonder if you could prime some 458 Lott cases and UPS them as loaded ammo?
I check our Scheels, Cabelas, Sportsmans Warehouse, farm store, JAX, etc, etc every time I go in…bullets occasionally. Rarely powder. Never primers.
I do believe things are starting to come in slowly.

Friends, pursuant to the emails above about the spirit of the "Pay it forward free" threads, I'd like to recommend we create another thread. I'd call it "Covid rationing".

I don't want to give up anything I have in the rationing world of today where things are selling for 10x retail, but I would certainly swap to help out a friend. Example: Need 470 solids but you have 470 softs? Maybe somebody would swap. Have powder, need primers? Maybe I'd swap. The proposed thread isn't for any party to get ahead, but only to ensure that people get what they need at the expense of giving up some of what they have.

From what I gather, most everyone is like me at present. We are buying whatever we see whenever we see it. I was at Walmart last night and they had ONE box of .22lr ammo in the store and ONE box of 20 gauge shotgun shells. That was their entire assortment. I bought the box of .22lr just because, since I don't think I have any and yet I own 5-6 .22 rifles. At any rate, if someone desperately needed .22lr, I'd swap for something else, but I can't give away that which I just bought.

Does this sort of theme make sense? Is there interest in doing such a separate thread that isn't free, but just cooperative "war rationing" amongst neighbors?

That would be a good idea!

Was in the shop this afternoon and a gent was telling us that his brother received a nasty letter in the mail about him having shipped primers incorrectly and they were talking about major fines etc. Not sure what will come of it but he is supposed to keep us posted so ill let you know what goes on as im curious myself.

I like it! I could've bought three boxes of Remington .222 at Wal Mart the other day for $25/box, but don't personally know anyone who owns a rifle in that cartridge? If we had a thread like you suggest, I would have bought those and traded them to someone here for .270 Win ammo. Wal Mart doesn't carry premium ammo, but in today's world, some factory ammo (and reloadable brass) for practice at a reasonable price, is better than the alternative? Oh, and I could've bought Townsend @Bob Nelson 35Whelen some Remington .243 for $22/box, but have no way of getting it to him as the Suez canal is blocked again by a wayward cargo vessel.

There are two problems I see with the Trading Post format: 1. If powder or primers are involved thing would need to be done face to face because shipping & shipping costs outweigh any advantage to the transaction. 2. I may have items to trade and items that I desire but generally a three way trade is involved since the person that has what I need does not need what I have while someone else would need what I have but not what I desire . so person A sends Item A to person B who sends item B to person C who sends item C to person A; and that's just a three-way trade. Personally, I prefer the pay if forward free and appreciate the listing of needed items since I have listed a few items that apparently no one needed as they went begging and it is nice to know there is some demand for some of my extra items.

YIKES! My head hurt after that one! LOL!

I also received a new Versa Pod from Ridgewalker. Thank you sir.

I'm putting up a new Vanguard tripod with pan head. 23" - 60", 3.1 lbs, 15 lbs maxload.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
