How will the looting in Durban impact SA hunting?

Some of the biggest food warehouses in Cape are burned down, many trucks on the highway also which will definitively initiate food shortage in days to come. Re-establishing full supply chain will take some time. One of petrol refineries is preventively shut down...

This I have not heard. ?There is a lot of fake news out there regarding the Cape, a person just does not know.
I have heard though that apparently something big is planned in the Cape for tomorrow. Again, is this true or fake news? The police say something, our Mayor says something else.
A lot of shopping malls are closed and locked down.
Not allowed to buy fuel in containers. Due to this a lot of small businesses like Garden Services etc. can't operate.
Can't get flour in the shops, all sold out. I guess the next thing we can't get is toilet paper again.
At least we in the Cape can still get food. I don't know if the poor people in KZN and Gauteng are so lucky, esp. in KZN

A friend of mine live north of J-burg (ex military, now in security) gave me that info. Rustenburg still have all they need (food and fuel) but going twds Jburg situation changes.
In addition:

As of last night there will be a tenfold increase in army numbers deployed (now up to 25 000). The general day to day life in most Gauteng areas and 75% of the country goes on as normal. Durban major refinery closed and they say if people don't panic buy fuel then there is about 4 days supply available from there. The stores are starting to run low, largely not because of lack of delivery, although this will start to bite harder soon, but because all the dumbasses are panic buying.

KZN is a shit show at the moment.

As for the chronological order of events:

1. Zuma goes to prison
2. His supporters organise riots etc (Almost 100% Zulu)
3. Criminals join the mayhem for opportunistic gain.
4. We are here....

Speculation: There is a "third force" using this to destabilise the government and potentially have "their" faction gain control. BUT there ALWAYS seems to be a "third force" whenever this country turns to shit. This mythical third force must be so very brainy to pull the strings to get the country to burn but not clever enough to actually take power. If the truth be known the "third force" is nothing more than government ineptitude!

When you have 40% unemployment, lockdowns that increase that number, no government grants and pensions not being paid in full or regularly, non payment of salaries, zero service delivery, when your life has gone backwards since 1994 (except for the new and few "black diamonds") and when corruption is rife both within the private and public sectors and there is zero accountability what do you expect?!?!?!

The masses are pissed off! They are easily led. They want what they have been promised over and over and over. The thought is: if you aren't going to fulfil your promises we'll have to help ourselves.

How do you think Hitler got into power? How do you think Malema and the EFF will get into power?

Don't worry about third forces. That is just a bullshit distraction!!This is 99% just criminality and opportunists and unfortunately a very large percentage of corrupt police and politicians. The government has looted and destroyed this country and the masses are starving and desperate!

Yes it will be brought under control but the cost will be very high. And the begging bowl will be held out to the world. The African leaders from Cape to Cairo have no self pride and zero national pride. They will self enrich and trample their own children to steal another dollar. Then the bleeding hearts in the rest of the world send more money. They rub their hands together and shovel it all into their back pockets.
As an outsider looking in, historically, there doesn't seem to be any love lost for the Zulu by the Xhosa, Tswana, Venda, etc. Is this still the case?

Do younger black South Africans tend to identify as black or do they still identify by tribe?

It is good seeing black, brown and white come together and form local militias to protect their own neighborhoods and businesses against the dregs of South African society. At the micro level, there is still humanity at work.

Probably like here in the US. They would see themself as a person until they allow pokers and prodders to divide them into groups. The dimwitted ones always let that happen.

Not directly what you asked, just an observation.

The report attached states thst the warehouse inDurban got burned down, not in the Cape. Till now all is quiet on the Western front

All the tribes pretty much think they're better than the other. Tribalism is DEEPLY ingrained in all tribes and I have said it since I was a lot younger, the only thing worse that nationalism is tribalism. The tribes will band together for a common goal, such as the end of white rule but thereafter they revert back to their intertribal fighting. One can see how Zuma packed his government with Zulus and how Ramaphosa keeps more of his tribe employed around him.

If you want to see an even more stark tribal split just look at Zimbabwe. The Shona make up the government while the Matabele is sidelined.

The younger black South Africans still identify by tribe, as I said you'll NEVER eradicate that tribal mindset. But the current generation just want a job and to make money to survive.

The current coming together of races is one side of the coin to those that wish to destroy. Out of a population of nearly 60 million you might have 100 000 wanting to burn it all down (this excludes the brainless EFF voters who number around 2-3 million who want to burn it down but want power too) and you have 750 000 standing together to prevent that. The other 59 million or so just want to stay out of it and live a life. Unfortunately the 100 000 are basically common criminals or politically motivated and don't give a monkey's about the 59 million. This 100 000 have no humanity and will gladly kill you for fun. Africa is beautiful but populated by some of the most brutal sub-humans on the planet.

Jorg.
I doublechecked last night and you were absolutely right (KZN, not a Cape). Sorry for sharing this before I checked and if I caused additional worry at your side.

No worries. The only only violence we have till now are Taxi wars.
We are obviously all worried that these riots blow over to our side, but the people are preparing for if this should happen.
Although all is at peace here, the roads are strangely quiet. I saw hardly any customers at work today.
Even if these bastards don't loot, they still cripple the economy.

Dont know if this is Legit

Thanks for the continuing education. Much appreciated.

It looks like the transport of goods between SA and Mozambique is shut down. I believe Mozambique gets a lot of food from SA so that could be impact to the people there too.

All of you in SA stay safe.

I have just had a private plane deliver food for us from Joburg to a private airstrip in Durban North. Our fuel station ran dry today. We have continued our armed lockdown of the neighbourhood, however are rising tensions between the police and civilian blockades. This has resulted in shots fired and a policeman wounded. After the curfew hours we aren’t letting anyone we don’t know through. The media is reporting that the troubles have died down, however a gated estate called Mount Edgecombe about 2 or 3 miles away was under attack the entire night by masses trying to get in. Relief should come from the major route between Joburg and Durban (N3) being opened today. We have no plans to stand down our neighbourhood armed force at this stage and I continue to carry my Ruger Hawkeye 308 more than I ever have before, and my stock has some new scratches with interesting stories!

Im afraid this may just be the beginning of what's to come. When the initial looting isn't stopped, it just emboldens others and their leaders all over to do the same. If that above report is legit, ( and they arent protestors, theyre criminals) the powers that be should be ready and when those rioters arrive should be met with a wall of lead.
When you have a mad dog in the neighborhood, you put that mad dog down.

There are many dead lying in the streets in some of the areas where they tried to invade peoples homes. The predominantly communities of Pheonix and Verulam and defended themselves with an unexpected ferocity and the police have been sending trucks to pick up the dead mad dogs- 14 or so last time I checked.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.

Hi EGS

I read your thread with interest. Would you mind sending me that PDF? May I put it on my website?
