I had a pretty strong response to the second Pfizer vaccine dose, but it was nothing at all compared to when I had COVID.

My experience as well. 2nd shot wasn't much fun but nothing like the virus itself. Was back to normal within a couple days after the 2nd dose of Pfizer.

FYI while we are all different, I can relate this My buddy and I just returned from a hunt in Limpopo. We road in a car for 3 1/2hours with a SA friend who took us to our work site with rhinos.....followed 2 weeks later by a 1 week hunt. My driver friend went into respiratory distress and was confirmed to have covid the day after he dropped us off. We "quarantined "with staff and rhinos for two weeks then hunted 1 week. Everyone at the rhino project was on ivermectin. No one developed any covid symptoms.(8 of us). My buddy and I had been vaccinated X2 with Pfizer vaccine. Taking normal precautions, I am comfortable that the vaccines work (granted none are 100%) and will be returning in September to work with wildlife and hunt.

Agreed, the data is overwhelmingly positive for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines on all known variants to date. All of this concern over the speed of development is evidence of a lack of understanding of the impact and effectiveness of gene editing technologies. This is the new normal.

On a related note, tricking your body into thinking that it is under attack, and thus generating antibodies, is a much more elegant solution than actually putting your body under attack with a small dose of the disease in order to develop antibodies.

I am glad to hear that our African friends are beginning to get access to the vaccines. Distribution has been criminally slow in many countries.

I certainly hope you are correct. I am not anti vaccine, just had second shinrex shot. As for Covid data, any non coolaid, non compliant or different result data currently "disappears". Anyone who questions getting on the train is labelled. WHY? I do not think 60 day human trials and now months of live Guinee pig data is enough. I am healthy, "young" and such a low risk I will wait a few years till vaccinated people provide real still alive and healthy verified data.

I had astra for the first shot, kicked the crap out of me, bad fever , aches and pains for a little over a day. Had phizer for second shot, a little bit of a.sore arm for a day. My sis had the same with the astra. Wife and kid had phizer, just a bit of a sore arm.

Tidbit: I was vaccinated against Anthrax during my stint in the 1st Gulf War, US has had the Anthrax vaccine available since the 1950’s & predominantly used for Veterinarians & Farmers yet Not FDA Approved & I had to sign a consent form. Why? Because the # of annual doses administered was very low = minimal data across a demographic group.

The four (4) reputable manufacturers of the COVID vaccines + the World Health Organization have MORE than ‘sufficient data’ World-Wide to initiate a Safe Approval Rating - which lifts the ‘is it safe’ veil of uncertainty for those on the fence.

From an Epi perspective: the vaccine is what will help the greater % & the World can turn the corner on COVID. I also respect those who choose not to be vaccinated - right of choice.

The Masters of the Universe need to stop politicizing COVID, stop railing against med’s that work, boost vaccine production for those who say yes & treat this 5-letter word for what it is: A Virus. P.S. No Zombie Apocalypse!

It has been clarified that hunters for culling and self sustained use may cross the Gauteng borders. So no non hunters as leisure travel is prohibited.

Yes, the vaccine studies had 40,000 to 70,000 people in each study. That’s way more than anything I witnessed or heard about in college. How many people in each study do you anti-vaxers need?? Geez, get a grip. Nothing in life is 100% safe. Ever read warning labels on simple aspirin or better yet, the drugs your doctors prescribe for anything? Lots of drugs people take every day carry well more risk than vaccines. I had a ridiculous conversation with an anti-vaxer lately who smokes weed and cigarettes. I guess it’s fine to fill your lungs with smoke from something actually burning that causes cancer in some people but not okay to take a vaccine? Ridiculous.

I am following numbers daily from home here in Canada and they are increasing daily as are deaths, =not good. We are wheels up for Joberg 28 July, just hoping that this Sundays announcement keeps current restrictions or relaxes them (not probable). Its been to stressful, postponement, delays and worries during this Covid BS. Really need to safari now, too worried that CB lion will be closed next year.

My suspicion is that they will extend the current level with another 2 weeks. Level 5 will demolish our already screwed economy.
Alcohol sales will further be banned although the Alcohol Board is requesting a appeal at the High court against this. This was supposed to have happed yesterday, but was postponed again. So this will bring in further robberies at the Booze shops.

A colleague of my wife’s tried to go to Kruger recently and was turned back and sent back home so they are enforcing the rules about travel outside of gauteng. Anyone with the right permission though is free to travel.

My friend does the same thing in the bar everyday. Smokes cigarettes and weed. He won't get the vaccine. Get this now he is sick has been since before the 4th of July won't go to the doctor or get tested. Hope he gets alright but am worried about him.
