Gentlemen, I finally pulled the trigger and decided to not wait any longer. Sep 6-14 of 2021 I will be hunting with the Metzger family of Makadi Safaris in Namibia on their family run operation. All nine days will be for management plains game animals which is great for me since it gives more money for the hunt and travel and I don't have room for anymore animal body parts anyways. This should also allow for plenty of extra time for my photography hobby since I won't be stressing the day away about getting that 65" kudu. We're going after at least 12 animals so I'll get my fill of stalking practice I'm sure.

I'm still young but have thought about Africa for probably 20 years and I can't express how excited I am to finally be going. I learned during childhood that life can sometimes be short and have an abrupt end and the chance for new experiences shouldn't be squandered. I've done a pretty good job so far of using that knowledge and this is one more step.

I bought a JC Higgins 30-06 a few years ago just for this purpose and can't wait to see how some big ole 200 gr. Partitions perform. I've already been in contact with Debbie of Gracy Travel and we're working on plans.

I can't wait to do a hunting report at the end of September.

Cheers

Cameron

If you are not happy with the partion you could always try the time proven Woodleigh 220 RNSN or their 180 grain PPSP.

You will fall in love with Namibia. The game, the people and the culture. If Okahenja markets are open it's worth a visit. Joe's beer garden in Windhoek is well with an end of hunt meal, you won't be disappointed. If you want skins to bring home as souvenirs Nankara tanery is the place with Springbok skins tended for as little as 20 dollars and zebra skins so soft you could make jackets out of for 100 bucks. Just a thought.
You will be planning your next hun t before you finish your first one.
Looking forward to your hunt report.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
