Well, I broke down to midway's temptations tonight. They had a refurb Z6i 1-6 EE with CDI reticle marked down to $1180. I've been watching that price creep down from 1600, so I jumped on it. 6 weeks to go till my trip, so plenty of practice until then.

With their reputation I don't see how you can go wrong!

Congrats!

Congrats on the Swaro! The nicest piece of glass I own is the now-discontinued Zeiss Conquest 3-9x42 and I love it!

Congrats you will love it, especially if you have old eyes like me. By far my favorite scopes.

Congrats on the great buy... but you screwed up! You're way to young... now what are you going to go to in 20 years;)

Ha! In 20 years, I'll be hoping my 50yr old body can still do what my 30yr old one can do now!

I'm sure 20 years from now, all of these scopes will be digital zoom deals with all sorts of optical stabilizers and autoenhancing features. Or the anti's will have shut us all down and we'll all have to take up something boring like golf.

I have a pair of A pair of the the Swarovski binos. I have not made the jump to there scopes but holy cow, once you go Swarovski you never go back.

Golf? Give me death!

That's exactly my fear!

Or my plan??

Congratulations, I just put one on my 416 R RSM and it is excellent. You will find dealing with Swarovski in case of repair to be one of the best experiences and you will realize that the scope isn't all that expensive after all with the life you will get out of it and the service. They are top notch!

That is a great deal. I have looked at this scope more than once (y) I am not sure, however, how that large circle comes into play, close range snap shots?

I have Swarovski 3.5-18 on my 270.
Excellent optics and clarity.
I use Leupold on my hard recoiling rifles because if the extra eye relief.
I would use Swarovski scopes as they have such great optics. Honestly, you can't go wrong.

The circle isn't actually as large as I originally anticipated it to be. It appears much larger in the stock reticle photos than it does looking through the scope. Seems like it will be a really nice scope. Sitting out on the back deck right now after mounting it to my 375 and just staring at things in the back yard, it's amazingly clear in the waning evening light. Can't wait to get it on the range Sunday and sight it in.

Took it out to sight in today and do some offhand shooting. I have to say I am enamored with the scope! The lighted reticle was great at 100yds, didn't cover too much of the target at 6x. Off hand at 50yds on 1x allowed me to shoot both eyes open without a problem, much like a red dot. Can't wait to put a buffalo in front of it!

You will love that scope. Extended eye relief is nice to have on a heavy recoiling rifle. They have discontinued the EE model so you are lucky to have yours.

hard to beat swarovski, i've hunting a set of EL 10x42's for years as well as a 3-18x50 z6i. awesome company
