Less than 30 days till Zim to go after Mr. Spots!!!!!!!

Wow, cant believe I am under the 30 day mark until heading to Zimbabwe to pursue Leopard! Looking forward to visiting a new country, seeing the sights, hearing the sounds, and going after different species! Looking forward to it with @Mbalabala Safaris !
What rifle are you going to use Reedy? Are you going to use your talllkeetna loaded up with some 250 grain bullets?

Best of luck to you. I was in the Matabo Hills in March and was very wet. Changed the cat travel pattern. I hope it has dried up and things are back to normal. Heading back in June for try #2. Was a great hunt and learning experience even though didn't find Mr Spots!

I just returned last Tuesday from Namibia hunting Mr. Spots. My second go around and still Spotless. Females returned to the baits but the Toms stayed clear. Will have to plan another hunt.

@larry4831 ,

Due to connection times and multiple airlines, I will not be taking the Kimber with me. I will be using one of @Mbalabala Safaris rifles.

60 days before I leave for my appointment with Mr. Spots! I am getting excited.
So what are you dong to prepare?
I've been exercising and starting to look at my checklist and getting a few things in order. Got my new 4457 stamped yesterday. Got to get malaria pills still.
Hope you have a great safari!
Philip

I know the feeling. Spent 32 days chasing spots last year!

Matabeland South just got 3 days of rain in the last week, including yesterday!

This bodes poorly for all of us, especially me as I'm first to go.

Hoping camp is accessible and roads are functional and that cats are present!

Best of luck to all the leopard hunters this season!

I'm hoping to join your ranks in the next year or two... for now I will live vicariously through your stories of adventure, trials, and triumph!

Roger, did you have any males on baits?

I encourage you and all my AH brethren to prioritize and accelerate your plans.

If ever you want to hunt DG, now is when.

Elephant, lion and leopard are top priorities.

Giraffe and hyena should also be high on the list.

Non exportable elephant will be relatively cheap and available for a long time as will buffalo and all the plains game. Time is short for some of these hunts! Hurry!

Good luck! I'm leaving in August for Zimbabwe for a leopard. Hope we all have some great stories to tell.

Thank Philip! Best of luck to you also. To prepare I am watching as many hunting shows with leopard the primary quarry as possible, I am exercising when I can, will be shooting the next few weekends, and will probably get to the doc for some malaria pills soon also.

@reedy0312 all the best on your pursuit for Mr Spots.

Thank you Simon!

Best of luck to you. Remember when or if you get the chance; AIM SMALL, MISS SMALL!!

My best wishes to all of you leopard hunters !

Guys I hope all spots hunters get what they are after. Also we want lots of pictures and hunt reports! Good luck everyone!

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….

I'd like to get some too.

My wife (a biologist, like me) had to have a melanoma removed from her arm last fall.

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?
