Have no idea, looks like the evil spawn of a goat and a wild pig! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Apparently, yes it is!

Cool, thanks. I was thinking someone photoshopped a goat onto a bear.:oops:

I wonder how long before people one here will be looking to hunt one. LOL

@gizmo can get us some maybe, didn't know they existed, but now that I do......

Right about the same time some group says we need to ban hunting to save these magnificent sentient creatures.

From Wikipedia:

The IUCN Red List of Threatened Animals ranked the Japanese serow as "Least Concern" in 2008, as it has wide distribution in Japan, and a large, stable or increasing population.[1] The Law for Protection of Cultural Properties (ja)[m] and Wildlife Protection and Hunting Law (ja)[n] provide for the legal management of the Japanese serow. In 1979 the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Environmental Agency, and Forestry Agency reached an agreement on serow management measures, such as the establishment of protection areas and culling as pest control.

So, it would seem that interested parties should look to Japanese outfitters?

Well, work on your archery or spear throwing skills, because Japan will not let you use a rifle to hunt there. They rarely allow foreigners to hunt in Japan at all.

Color me intrigued

Their face looks like some old guy with the gray beard that's pissed off.

Who will be the first AH member to hunt one of these things..

A Japanese serow. Doing very well for a species on the brink 50 or so years ago. Not well known but there's actually a few species of serow in Asia. Someone's going to have to hop through a few hoops to hunt them.

Google says they have done some hunting as pest removal. Apparently numbers came back to the area of 100,000 at one time. If Japan allowed sport hunting...... Oh well. Interesting animal. Bruce
