Bullseye Camera System: http://www.bullseyecamera.com/

I've been thinking about buying something like this for awhile and was wondering if anyone has one or seen one in use on the range.

When I go home to Louisiana, there is a very nice gun range that I am a member of that has up to 1,000 yd targets. Not that I plan to shoot that far, but I would like to shoot at 300-500 yard targets, just to see what I can do. This camera system seems to be the ticket for extended, long range sessions.

WOW! That's some shooting there!

By the way where in LA is this range? Hope you use an ATV to go change targets!

No, I don't have an ATV, that's another reason for getting the camera. Regulars that shoot on the 1000 yard range have ATVs , golf carts or bikes. If it's not too busy, you can just drive your car/truck down the range road too. The range is called "Long Range Alley" (http://www.longrangealleygunclub.com/ ) and it's about 15 miles south of Shreveport, on the east side of I-49. The only other 1000 yard range in Louisiana is at Fort Polk and you have to be in the US Army to shoot there. There are several 25 yard bays with high dirt berms for sighting in rifles or shooting pistols. There's a combo rifle area with 100 and 200 yard targets. There's a wide open area with steel plates at 100 to 350 yards. The entire range is on several hundred acres and very well maintained and spread out to be safe.

When you consider the cost of an ED Glass spotting scope the price is really not all that bad

I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy the Bullseye camera, but another thought I had was to buy a drone. Fly it down to take a look at the target, land and park it off to the side. As long as nobody shoots it, could work well. A drone would offer a lot more uses and would be a neat scouting tool to have.

Interesting article and video: http://myfirstdrone.com/phantom-4/dji-phantom-4-real-world-range-test/

How could anybody resist NOT shooting at a Drone

Big Money SUVs, Macho Guys shooting Fully Auto Weapons, Hot chicks in Bikinis, No wonder the World Hates us:):):)

So it got me to thinking, if you shoot at a drone, should you yell something first?

PULL!.......................................................like shooting skeet
BANDITS!................................................like you are a fighter pilot
ENGAGE MAVERICK, ENGAGE............you are a whimp like Tom Cruise
BONZAI!..................................................like you are a Japanese fighter pilot

Then I saw this article:

Dead Drones Tell No Tales

Well, I never got around to buying a Bullseye Camera ..................yet.

I saw on Midway that they are on sale, $150 off. Now priced at $450. Getting real tempting.

I guess if you just wanted a camera and not the fancy software, a techo savy person could come up with a way to FaceTime with two cellphones on the rifle range, setting one up as the camera near the target and the other set up at the shooting bench as a monitor. If a range set up some wifi hotspots on the range, where you could connect to wifi, then FaceTime gets even better. Has anyone tried something like this?

Thats a pretty interesting setup. Might have to ask the wife for a late Christmas present

Bought one today from Midway, need a new toy to play with on the range when I move to Houston in a few weeks. The sale price was too good to pass up.

@375 Ruger Fan How'd you like the set up? Midway has dropped the price even more, and now I'm really tempted.

What power scope are you using? Try using the dayglo yellow poster paper available at Walmart or Walgreen's. Very easy to see the holes with a scope 20x or higher at 300 yds. No guarantees for others but on a good day when mirage isn't bad I can see 6mm and larger holes at 500 meters with a 22x scope.

Ebay has them for 269.99

I'm looking at the long distance model for shooting out to 1000 yds, as well as when I'm sighting in new rifles/swapping ammo. My thought is that yes, I have a spotting scope (albeit not a very good one) but this should be clearer and it will keep track of the shot order. The shot order is really what I'm looking at - I tend to be so focused on making adjustments, that 5 shots in I start with the "Oh that was shot #1....or wait...was that shot #1?"

A good system if you are just shooting at a stationary target and you have the range to yourself. In the last ten or so years, I saw one shooter with the system on our longest range, 500 meters. Took a little time to set up but it worked very well. The price has come down considerably. That's a plus.

Haven't had a chance to get it out on the range yet. It poured down rain yesterday in Houston so didn't make it out there and pretty muddy today.

I charged up both units and got it linked to my iPhone very easily. Haven't been able to link it to my laptop though. Other than that, I can't say too much more. I think at the even lower price, it's a deal.

Well, went ahead and gave it a go...For anyone else considering, it was down to $328 shipped on MidwayUSA (for the long range/up to a mile model)
