Shipping bullet to Canada?

I have a gentleman who wishes to by my collection of various .375" bullets. is there any laws saying I cant ship them to him in Canada?

the package would just have bullets and dies, no powder or primers.

On the Canadian side:
As long as the person receiving the bullets has a valid Possession Acquisition License (PAL)
they can have all the bullets you can send.

You need an export licence/permit. It's not overly hard to do but it takes time and cost a little money.

Hmm not necessarily. In the case of importing a collection of bullets yeah it's probably going to add a fair chunk to the price. However if you import/export in bulk you can get a good deal.


As an kind of example I imported a press from the US into Au there was $580AUD freight added to the cost of the press plus I brought all the extras I thought I might need, it still came out cheaper than buying the bare press in Au. I also import my SMK and OTM projectiles from the US into Au because it's quite a bit cheaper to do it. It does take a lot of time however.

I recentley exported a pistol from the USofA into Au and it took somewhere around six months to get it to my doorstep from my US FFL.

I agree if you are importing in bulk but unless I'm wrong we aren't talking about a really significant qty.

What about sending stuff to the USA like brass and barrels to a private citizen as a gift.

Projectiles etc have been removed from the old ITAR system onto Commerce regulations. The export costs are now much less BUT the complexities of US laws are such that it would pay to go through a specialist ammo exporter. All to easy for an innocent to inadvertently breach laws that could have serious long term consequences.

I assume you are asking about a package from Canada to the USA.
If they are being shipped via common carrier I would be obtaining an export permit, just in case. At least asking.
