I received a text message last night that is as follows: “I’m considering taking my action from my Whelen and building a 6 Creedmoor.” I think my friend may have lost his mind, or is speaking blasphemy. How do I bring him back from this brink? Any advice you have is appreciated.

Point out to him it will NEVER WORK.
The 6.5 is a short action.
Whelen is a long action.
Just explain that if you want a lot more exercise use a creede for hunting because you will have a lot of tracking of wounded game because you will get your ambitions mixed up with your capabilities thinking you can shoot game at Ultra long range.
The Whelen has been killing game for over a hundred years.

If'n that fails take him outside and publicly bitch slap some sense into him.
Tell him he can buy a creede cheaper than a rebarrel.
If that still fails just take his Whelen until he comes to his senses. If he doesn't come to his senses you have a nice Whelen.
Offer to pay for counselling for him.
What he wants to do is just criminal.

I’m hoping he will sell me the Whalen if he really wants to get a Needmore. I have asked for specific details on the Whelen and will share them when I have them. He is out Coyote hunting tonight, so it may be a bit before I get any reply. I got this picture a couple of hours ago.
