Will Rhino hunting become legal elsewhere?

The other side of this issue is poverty. Could rhino horn be harvested as mentioned and distributed to the local community? Is there actually a law against shaving off the horns and giving it away locally? Perhaps a share to each village so they would benefit from the high prices as well? I think members of that village would become a part of the solution is the general good was at stake.

Hello Pheroze

Again, There would be some clever person who exploits this. There are too many stories of the poor being conned as a result of a lack of education, information or just plain victimization or intimidation.

I'm sure somebody has the answer, we just need to find and implement it....

If we look at history, reduction in demand can be achieved.

Also, Vietnam may be weaning itself off the horn according to recent surveys

So hopefully, we may be seeing more countries repopulate their rhino stocks and allow foreigners to hunt them and hopefully it'll get a little bit cheaper

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.

Hi EGS

I read your thread with interest. Would you mind sending me that PDF? May I put it on my website?
