Let's See Some Hunting Knives

Nothing fancy nor high dollar, just working knives for a working guy. If feeling nostalgic and carrying a lever gun, it’s the original Marble’s Woodcraft. Otherwise, the Gerber Gator is typically with me. There are others but 95% of the time I’m carrying one of these two.

For me carbon steel is superior to stainless steel as a knife blade material. A little rust is a small price to pay for the better and longer lasting edge.
I found this maker at the Huntex Show in Johannesburg who produced this, light, superbly comfortable.

Factory fixed blades I have used on large game are mostly 4-5" bladed drop points and trailing points like the Western F66 and Spyderco Southfork. I finally designed a custom with high hardness CTS-XHP stainless steel, sort of a modern Woodcraft, and haven't used anything else since.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
