Let's See Your Pig And Pig Gun

Warthog shot a while ago. Shot it almost immediately as we started our stalk and dragged him into the shade to be collected on our return. On our return we found him about 20m away from where we left him and he was severely mauled and almost gutted. I asked the tracker if perhaps it was a Hyena that had caused the injuries, he laughed and said that it was another Warthog that had mauled him after his death.

Pic is back at the camp after we cleaned him up only showing his good side!

From a post I made previously. The rifle is a custom Mauser 8x57JS.

Feral hogs in the USA make the best live fire targets you could ask for. And if you are aggressive enough with the sows with piglets you get to practice stopping charges too.

I pole axed a sow coming full speed this last fall at about 7-10 yards (I got all excited and forgot to step it off exactly) with my 450/400 she chose a day when I had the wrong gun in my hands. Worked with authority.

a buddy of mine just picked this up...

he wants to stuff it full of 1/4" ball bearings, and put a cell phone trigger on it... then point it at a feeder and wait for pigs to come in lol..

Here is one of the Special Edition, Rigby 250th Anniversary pigs from a few weeks back. :ROFLMAO:

Texas Heart Shot with the big Rigby as this one broke from long grass at about 8 metres.

@Marrakai took a few ‘Rigby anniversary boars’ along the way with his 1911 delivered .275 London Best HV.

For the boar tant. This has worked for me.
Cooler put the meat in ice and salt.
As the ice melts drain replace the ice with more salt as nessary.
For up to a week it pulls the nasty from it.
The salt and ice gets colder which is a big +in fl
And the salt water cleans the meat.
It’s worked for generations.
You would be surprised at the hogs given to my dad since he would eat the old nast boars.

Ever try some apple cider vinegar?

Ever try some apple cider vinegar?
I have heard of people using it and tea of all things.
I have never used them the salt works and as hot as it normally is here the cooling helps to.
But o have used vinegar in cooking them. Especially pepper sauce. ( pepper in white vinegar) normally the little roster spear pepper

Another warthog that fell to the little Rigby, thanks to fine work by the @KMG Hunting Safaris team.
