Taxidermy From Bullseye Taxidermy has arrived

"SIDE-MOUNT" SABLE IS GREAT! AND CARVED OR PAINTED EURO WILDEBEEST IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO.

Congrats! I love it all! Except that Sable...

Congratulations on the arrival of your trophies.
(@jbirdwell I removed your personal information from your crate photo)

Beautiful work.

I do not like that sable presentation at all. He looks beautiful, but he reminds of of some pedo trying to hide from being caught in a library (nothing to see here).

That is a crazy comparison. Almost spat out my drink.

On topic. Nice trophies. Looking very good.

The wildebeest carving is incredible. I've never seen anything like that. Very unique! I've seen painted ones or embellished with rhinestones (not my thing), but never crafted like that. True artistry. IMO

The crate showed up on Wednesday and I'm trying to get it all settled where it will hang as least until I retire. I still have to hang my Buffalo skull and figure out what I am going to go the the flat skins of a Wildebeest and Impala plus the Buffalo hide that is tanned and ready to have leather goods made out of it. I also have another carved Wildebeest skull at home that I have not unwrapped. The light in my office is terrible so some of the pics are not the best but I'm trying to figure out where everything is going to end up so I can have the office repainted.

Congratulations; looks great! Seems odd that they shipped with the horns attached, as it would normally require a larger crate. But they got it all in there.

That Wildebeest is fantastic! I tried to get a similar carving or laser engraving done on a Waterbuck but the taxidermist wasn't able to make it happen. Yours will definitely be a conversation-starter and no doubt the impetus for many future stories to all who enter into the office.

It is often amazo

It is often shocking how many mounts they can fit in one crate.

I am not sure why so many people are giving negative opinions on your Sable mount when you didn't say you were unhappy with it. And that's all that really matters anyway. If you decided you didn't like it up against the wall like that, you could put it on a pedestal with fake foliage covering the lower wall side, then it would look more 3D and be able to see more of the mount. That would be a very easy alternative.

Is it just the angle of the photo, or is that an exceptional blesbuck? Looks very tall in the photo.

Congrats on the shipment, and that whitetail is distractingly awesome.

Thanks, I believe the longest horn on the Blesbok was either 18” or 18 1/8”. Negative opinions are part of life and since I’m the only person paying my way, they don’t really mean nothing to me unless I seek them out from someone I trust and respect.

Can you tell a little more on the wildebeest work, such as time and cost? My wife said it's beautiful and I have a blue already with a black on my September list. Thanks.

Congratulations!! :D Beers:

My crate from Bullseye is now in Chicago waiting on final clearance and for me to go get it. Congrats on getting it all home and for the beautiful trophies. The carving is extraordinary...may have to do that on my next euro....hartebeest maybe.

I’ll have to search for my invoice but I think it only added about $150.00 for each skull if I’m remembering correctly. It did not seem to add any time as they had it done while they were waiting for the hides to be done for the shoulder mount. I gave full leeway to Bullseye to select a pattern or whoever did it picked the pattern.

If I would have know they would turn out that nice, I probably would have had them do the Buffalo skull.

Really unique. Bullseye is in Vaalwater and I'll be in the East Cape. My PH uses Karoo Taxidermy, not sure if they do that work. I'd like to see if a US taxidermist could do that work.

How long after making the payment to African Legacy did it take for the crate to be shipped out?

I wired the money on 07/22 and the crate arrived in Houston on 08/04 via Turkish Airlines.

The engraving looks like it was done with a CNC, very precise. I've reached out to 2 taxidermists, one in metro Denver, and the other in Rhinebeck, NY to see if they know of a US taxidermist who does that type of work. Does anyone on this forum know? My wife thought I should do my blue wildebeest as well.

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
